Hiro / Takei training was frakking great.

Groucho 05-15-07 08:26 AM

My guess is that Mr. Nakamura's power is the ability to teach quickly.

And unless there's some radical change in events, we already know that Mr. Bennet won't kill Molly since in five years she's one of the people he's protecting.

Right - as long as she isn't being used to hunt and track for evil, HRG should have no reason to need her dead. That's disabled as far as he'd be concerned.

Also regarding the comics, anyone know why no love for DC?

Doc Moonlight 05-15-07 08:44 AM

Let's see... Micha is reading Silver Surfer #1 and this summer the Fantastic Four movie introducing Silver Surfer is coming out. Co-incidence? I think not.

Chucky 05-15-07 08:47 AM

I think if Candice gets killed we'll see her true form.

Parkman is just retarded with his powers. He "heard" Thomson about to ambush them and warns HRG. But then he neglects to "hear" Thomson sneak up behind him with a gun. Then he neglects to "hear" Suresh sneak up behind him and whack him.

Meanwhile, Peter (who just got the power a few moments prior, right? I don't remember if Parkman and Peter met up previously) picks Sylar's thoughts out of a crowded NYC street.

pinata242 05-15-07 08:57 AM

The FBI had Peter in custody back in Texas after Homecoming. Parkman was there and they were having a mental conversation.

Undoubtedly NOT a coincidence. During the commercial break they even said there'd be a special extended trailer for Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer during next week's episode.

I bet if perception altering girl dies, and we see her true form, it will be that same actress who always plays the fat girl. She played Nanette Babcock on Nip/Tuck I believe.

She may as well have made him a fake copy of Ninth Wonder (or whatever it's called) showing how he helps rig the election and then is reunited with his family.

No duh. That was obvious two weeks ago.

Which is what my wife said to me when I said pretty much the same thing to her at pretty much the same time you said it to your wife. Hey ... maybe you and I have powers and we're linked somehow. Quick -- what number am I thinking of?

Spoiler:
37

I want to see a shout-out to Mark Gruenwald, particularly since Candice's remark about what she really looks like is lifted directly from a minor character in his Squadron Supreme story of 20+ years ago.

However, I have to say that i'm not surprised and most disappointed that they killed Ted. I realize he served his purpose once Pete absorbed his power (and learned to control it rather quickly, I must say), I guess I was just hoping for a "hero" that didn't look like they stepped off the cover of Maxim, GQ or put whipped cream over their private parts.
Obviously, you haven't seen the pictures of Matthew John Armstrong with his crotch covered in Reddi-wip.

I know exactly who you mean. She's on everything. She's created quite a niche for herself.

Totally agree... the fact that Sulu was turning his son into a samauri in less time than it took Tom Cruise to learn meant that it was either A - laughable (though badass) or B - they lived a relative 6 months in frozen time. Looks like they went with A.

I don't think he has one. Didn't he say that the Nakamura family has been waiting generations for someone like Hiro to come along? I got the sense that he doesn't have any powers.

I was confused by Linderman saying that Pa Patrelli was like them - I thought the 6-part comic miniseries made it abundantly clear that he wasn't.
I think Linderman said that Pa Petrelli had power, not powers.

You would be wrong, as in almost 100% of all martial arts related sequences, the student just goes into instant expert mode to get revenge, save someone, etc.

A-aron 05-15-07 09:44 AM

so, why couldn't Ted simply heat himself to soften the cuffs and escape? He's done far worse to get away in the past, so why just take it this time?

Was thinking the same thing. Either the writers dont care or dont realize the holes. I guess they could always write it off that the character itself doesnt realize that they can do this stuff.

Jadzia 05-15-07 09:57 AM

If Linderman has the power to heal, why did they need Suresh to heal Molly?

He can only heal plants and legs.

Apparently you didn't read the comic. He can heal anything that is still alive. When he shot DL, since he is not dead yet, Linderman can heal him back to normal again, like Claire is able to regenerate/heal herself.

spainlinx0 05-15-07 10:10 AM

Apparently your superpower is the inability to detect sarcasm since he is probably pointing out the fact that he should have been able to heal the girl, but the writers didn't seem to remember that. :)
