I read a rumor today that WWE diva and Playboy covergirl Ashley Massaro will be one of the contestants on the next season.

*Cringe*

And I think Mark Burnett agrees with you. I heard him interviewed on a local radio show a few months back, and he said that they're working to get the show broadcast in HD. So if they're investing that kind of money, you'd think they'd be planning to stick around for several more years.

Doesn't CBS, for the Masters and other golf, have only some HD cameras, but everything is shot in widescreen? I wouldn't mind something like that, at least to start. As long as the quality is the same, I would just assume have my screen filled with a 16x9 image as opposed to the 4:3 we get.

I enjoy Survivor now more than when it first started and hope that it will be around awhile. I cannot stand and do not watch any of the other reality shows.

I think there are several reasons they haven't done any freezing cold environments. Cold conditions would create many problems. For saftey and legal reasons everyone would have to be provided with warm clothing and a warm-dry living environment. Challanges involve intense physical activity. Many of the challanges also involve being in the water. It would be very difficult even dangerous to try and do the challanges with cold weather gear on. Having enough food would also be more critical. The spread of cold and flu would also be more likely living in a room with many other people that is protected from the cold. They would have to redo the challanges and change the way food. water, and shelter are provided.

Also, I really believe the "skin" factor is a big consideration. Its hard to see butt cheek, clevage, thighs, pec's, ab's, etc. with parkas on.

The major complaint I have is I believe race/etnicity has entered into the selection of the contestants.

HD would be pretty damn sweet given the locales.

Race/ethnicity? These have always been considered in selecting contestants ... along with age, physical health and a whole range of other elements. SURVIVOR was never a lottery.

If diversity is such a major factor for the producers, I think it would be more interesting to see some non-Americans (obviously English-speaking) on it.

I'm sure they do, but Burnett was saying that the potentially harsh weather conditions in certain locales was a deterrent. They are working on trying to find the best way to protect the expensive HD equipment from the elements before switching over. I for one would start watching again just as Red Dog said for the locales in hot video HD.

She'll die on the island cause she doesn't eat as it is.

An international SURVIVOR is a great idea! Are you listening, CBS?
