Maybe since it seemed to be a gut-shot, the island will heal him faster than the damage that would normally kill him works? Hopefully.

And how does the "Incident" that Dr. Candle referred to in the Orientation video play into all of this now? Was he referring to the purge as the incident? If he was then he would be dead as well since he was a Dharma worker. Or was he talking about another incident that happened before the purge? I sure hope the writers had this mapped out correctly and are not screwing it up.

More for the clone theory:
Richard doesn't age
Ben said something to him about remembering what a birthday is (unless they celebrate clone day)

Or, its just the writers messing with the clone theorists.

maybe the 'incident' was when Ben (as a kid) turned off the gate and left for a bit?? *shrug*

confusing episode....I liked it though

I agree! So dad blames Harry Potter for killing his mother? We get it, these people had crappy fathers...

Too drunk on Dharma beer to even open the door!

Loved him in Season 1, but wouldn't miss Locke that much if his character went kaput.

I kept thinking that Ben was going to unload another round into Locke and finish him off. The fact that Locke was suspensefully left alive at the end leads me to believe that he won't die. If it was going to happen, it would have happened as the shocking ending to this episode. As probably the most interesting character on the show, he damn well better not.

That probably hasn't been decided upon yet.

I agree 100% there. I hope he gets a chance to kill Ben himself. Ben and the rest of his cronies have proven to be 100% worthless up to this point. How did those "natives" survive there for so long and who are they? Are they Nazis who have found the fountain of youth and shared it with Ben after the purge took place?

Typically I don't get want to say it, but the whole Jacob/Poltergeist thing bordered on a "Jump the Shark" moment for this show. It was just lamely executed.

If Locke dies, I'd have to guess we'll be seeing a lot more of Ana Lucia and Mr. Eko.

Question: Clones! You heard me, the survivors of the plane crash and some of the people on the island are clones. That's why Locke can walk because his DNA was that of a perfectly good Locke. That's why the Russian dude who was supposed to have died in that sonic-fence thing came back. That's why the women on the island can't have children because for some reason clones can't have babies! Tell me I'm wrong!— Linda

Ausiello: You're wrong! "Damon and I are willing to go out on a limb and ding that theory," Carlton Cuse says. "They are not clones."
I agree the Jacob thing was lame, and I would be shocked if Locke was dead.

Wow--now that's an interesting thought. That would play into the multi-dimensional theories, too...

I can't be the first to suggest this, but I'd take what the writers say in the press with the same sort of skepticism you'd take what Ben says on the show. I have no faith that they're honest about this stuff (partly because I still don't have faith they have any idea where the hell they're going).
