I was surprised by the Cassidy subplot this late in the season, but expect it will play in the finale. Otherwise a great build-up ... to the next episode!

Maybe Wyatt will want him around because they seem to have him click with the strike team and everything Vic has done in front of him (notice only Julian was the one against Vic taking in the perp solo) and he seems just as knowledgeable about office politics, how to work the system and what to/what not to relay back to HQ.

Sorry but I just cannot get over the way people keep talking about the characters like they have free will and decision making capabilities. Cracks me up.

Guess that's my thing.

I guess, I mean, what's the point of this forum if we aren't going to talk about what the characters are doing on a TV show. What cracks you up is basically the purpose of this place.

I know, it's a joke.

Well, not anymore, I had to explain it.

Christ... are you trying to be obnoxious, or are you just stupid?

The only one talking about characters having free will is you. Either contribute something of meaning to the conversation or quit trolling and leave.

Let me guess, if someone said "it's a good thing that Autumn Chiklis found out about Catherine Dent's baby," you'd be the one insulting people for not being able to tell the actor and character apart.

A sign of good writing is that the characters come to life and interact as real people do.

harrydoyle, it is generally considered poor form here to snark on and belittle other's opinions. Many people would consider it thread-crapping, which is frowned upon here.

That said,

Yeah, it was a great episode. Made up for last week's letdown w/ the whole Shane thing.

It's also nice to see the

Spoiler:
focus finally taken off the Salvadorian' and the '1-9ers' and lead to a more destructive means within the relationship between Mackey and Shane.

I apologize, I was trying to be playful, not mean-spirited, and I do think it's an interesting conversation. My purpose for getting into this thread was because I was so excited after last night's episode, I just have a propensity to noodge.

Movin' on. I think the finale will air in France this Friday. So expect some major spoilers to be revealed around other boards. I have not seen the other unaired here episodes but from what I have read so far, it is AWESOME.

Yea, you havn't seen anything yet.

Someone should start a spoilers thread if they want to discuss anything past this episode.

Exactly. Shane is what many accuse George W. Bush of being. I don't want to turn this into some political thread, so don't run with that. I just think that's the comparison that makes sense to me.

Man, talk about awesome controlled rage by Vic. Heard some Thing in his voice, there.

I'm with Shane as well.

Vic is a hypocrite.

So what if Shane killed a friend of theirs. Murdering a cop is still murdering a cop no matter who you are trying to protect.

Vic shot Terry Crowley in cold blood.

For the first time, I have no sympathy for Vic after the way he treated Shane. I hope Shane flips and puts Vic in jail with Antoine.

True, but at least Terry was a road that Vic and Shane agreed to go down together. I find both Vic and Shane to be hypocrits here.

Vic can't understand the monster he created in Shane, and the best line of the night was him stating to Shane , "what have you turned me into".

Shane made a choice to save his own ass by killing Lem. He's just trying to rationalize it to everyone else that it was for them as well, ala telling Mara he did it for his family and telling Vic/Ronnie that he did it for the Strike Team. Look at how fast he jumped on Vic asking if he would tell Dutch. Shane would turn on anyone to save his own ass.

Thats the beauty of the relationship between these two. Shane wants to be like Vic, but he is a dumbshit. Vic can get himself out of just about any jam it seems, but his pity for Shane has always been his weakness.

Everything about this episode was terrific.

And the scenes between Dutch and Billings are always so funny to watch.

Great episode.

I am beginning to think we'll be Shaneless for the final season.

Don't think Julien is going to be able to remain on the strike team unless he has a real big attitude adjustment about what is procedure and what is "right" I believe Hyatt is really beginning to like and trust Vic.

Counting the days until the new episode.

I enjoyed the ep. but I was underwhelmed by the Shane/Vic "confrontation." Chiklis does the controlled rage thing brilliantly, but Shane's reactions to Vic's accusations were a little too understated to be believeable for that situation, IMO. I mean, that was THE big revelation in the show's run and Shane is just sort of "get over it, man" about it.

I can't remember the first episode clearly but didn't Shane "agree" to go down that road AFTER Vic had already shot Terry?

Just saw Episode 10 (the finale) and
Spoiler:
was actually a little disappointed - it's a great episode but it seems to act more of a springboard for the final season.

He had problems dealing with it later but he stood right by Vic when he did it and covered it up. Being as smart as Vic is I doubt he would kill a cop right in front of one unless Shane already was in on it. They kept Lem and Ronnie out of the loop though.

Also remember Shane said "we killed a cop" not "you killed a cop" to Vic. He was in on it.

I may be a little confused or something, but isn't Hyatt really an undercover Fed? He made a pretty big slip up when talking to Dutch... Seems that way to me, but no one has mentioned it.

Does Acaveda know? Or does he just assume? Cavenaugh definitely assumes.

This show is real to me. It's more real to me than the NBA playoffs.
