Candidates for Cancellation anyone?
Would anyone like to predict what might get canned this TV offseason?
CBS:
Close to Home (I like this show, but I would be shocked if it returns)
Ghost Whisperer
Jericho (don't know if 8M+ viewers is enough to keep it around)
The Unit (don't know if 9M+ viewers is enough)
NBC:
Studio 60 (as good as gone)
The Apprentice
Law and Order or Law and Order: CI
Crossing Jordan (there is some buzz it may return)
Raines (as good as gone)
ABC:
Every sitcom
FOX:
Every sitcom
Standoff (as good as dead)
CW:
Veronica Mars
One Tree Hill
Supernatural

Why is Supernatural always said to be in danger. It gets a little lower ratings than Smallville, is in a much more competative spot, and must cost less to make than Smallville. So why would it have any more of a chance of getting cancelled than Smallville.

The only reason why I think it's in danger is because even Eric Kripke says there is a 50-50 shot that it will return next season. Cost could play a factor, but I believe it's shot in Canada like Smallville, so that makes it a little cheaper to produce.

Interesting question. I named my "top five shows to save" a while back, and a few of those shows you mentioned were on that list.
I agree Studio 60 is probably done, which is a shame. With that cast, and Aaron Sorkin behind it, there's no reason it should have failed. A complete missed opportunity for a lot of reasons.
I really like Jericho, and hope it sticks around. When I saw the pilot, I hated it, thought it was too dark and depressing, but I gave it a shot this fall and really liked it. It feels very real. But, the ratings, after spiking at the start, as you mentioned, have really collapsed.
How I Met Your Mother I wrote about, but while I enjoy the show, I can't say I've watched it regularly this season because of Prison Break. And even when Prison Break completed its season, I just figured I'd catch up on DVDs. But, it's a smart comedy, and there aren't too many of those around anymore. You almost need to give the ones that are a bit more of the benefit of the doubt.

I'm glad that you left "The Class" of your CBS list... that's really the only show that I want to see back for a sophomore season... well, that and "Heroes".

CW - "Veronica Mars" is as good as gone considering it normally wins the "lowest rated drama" award of the week. While "One Tree Hill" and "Supernatural" don't exactly have the best ratings, they are stronger than VM and relatively cheap to produce, plus with "7th Heaven" and "Gilmore Girls" gone, and alone leaves 4 Open Drama spots, so I think OTH and SN are safe.
I will be beyond bum if "How I met your mother" gets canceled

I will be sad to see VM's go too but truthfully I don't think ratings will go up even if they reboot it unless they change the name. I think Most people hear the name and think "Teen show."
As for Supernatural, I got hooked on it on DVD this year but can't watch it because of the horrible timeslot (against the NBC and CBS shows I watch) so I don't watch it when it is televised and of course can't tivo three things at once.
That could be the CW's problem.

CBS
New Adventures of Old Christine (think the show is funny but with the slipping ratings for the show & the grinches working at CBS i think this show is in alot of danger)
How I met your mother (don't like the show but it could get canned along with New/Christine)
Jericho (Don't watch but in danger)
CBS's friday night lineup
NBC
ER (One of my favorite if not my favorite medical drama ever but with its slipping ratings NBC might consider cancelling it, But it is a staple in tv history so NBC might want to keep it around for awhile longer)
Scrubs (My favorite none Studio Aud./Laugh track/Comedy ever, Scrubs has never been a rating king and never will but lets just hope NBC gives the show the respect it deserves and give it its 7th & final season)
Crossing Jordan, Law & Order & Law & Order: CI, Raines & studio 6A: on the 9th floor of rockfeller center plaza (Oops i mean studio 60).
ABC
Most of there lineup besides Greys anatomy.
CW
Who cares?

It's been picked up for 5 or 6 episodes next season I think (or maybe just 5 or 6 scripts have been ordered), but many sites are saying that it is looking promising.

Anyone think CBS should try slotting Numb3rs in on Tuesdays at 10? I kind of like the show and it seems it would fit pretty well in with NCIS and The Unit (if it returns)...
