A couple of other spoilers that TV Guide tells us:

Spoiler:

- A major CTU character is going to die.

- One couple is going to have a "happy ending".

- Someone we thought "long dead" is coming back...with a vengenace

Now my speculation on those spoilers:

Spoiler:

- Morris is going to die, destroying the Russian chip in an act of heroism.

- Bill Buchanan and Karen Hayes will be the "happy" couple

- Curtis is alive and well and ready for revenge on Jack.

HOWEVER, I wish they'd bring a REALLY "long" dead character back...like George Mason or Victor Drazen...now that WOULD be a shock!

As for the thoughts of next season, I don't think I could stand a 24 prequel that lasted for a whole year (I think that could really hurt ratings at this point) - but I do like the idea of using a theatrical film as a prequel (since it wouldn't have to happen in real-time).

Gordon also says in the TV Guide interview that he'd very much like to get out of LA next year as the primary location IF it's economically feasible for the series to do so...so here's hoping for "24: China" or at the very least "24: Chinatown".

Potential Major Season Finale Spoiler

Spoiler:
I was looking up some 24 info on Wiki and came across a major potential season finale spoiler. On Tony's page, it said Tony might come back at the end of this season. Of course I'm not sure how this is possible since he died last season. The final scene is suppose to have a car pulling up to Bauer and telling him to get in. Bauer is shocked by who he sees. I'm not sure how accurate this information is.

I didn't read the whole thread, but:

Since these shows like to take breaks for weeks at a time maybe they could just do Four 6 week arcs or something, instead of a 24 episode arc.

Haha, yeah they used to be so good w/ casting on this show. After seeing Jack square off against all of those villains PLUS the POTUS, now the Big Bad is...uh, Tzi Ma? Ho-hum.

If THAT happened, I'd totally forgive them for this season!

It's what I'm hoping happens. Ordinarily, that's the type of stunt reserved for a cheesy soap opera. But Season 6 of 24 already is a cheesy soap opera, so I say bring it on.

Anyone else finding it funny that people that normally wouldn't touch spoilers are reading them left and right now since the season has sucked so bad? I know a couple people like that. I'm like that and decided to check the one Shannon posted. At this point I just want to know something good comes of this season, which is probably a common reason.

And believe it or not, what is in that spoiler is definitely interesting and could change things quite a bit.

I just hope they ignore the PC crowd and get more in tune with modern times. It's 2007. Russians are not the bad guys anymore! That's soooooo 2nd millenium!

Funny you said that, because as I'm going through this thread I was doing the exact same thing.

man, Surnow must be smokin some shit if he thinks the season is going well

either that or the finale must be so blockbuster that it will make us forget the other 16 or 17 bad episodes

anyways, since were running low on presidents...maybe they'll retire Jack; and Jack Bauer being the patriot he is, we'll see him in a suit and tie in the oval office next season with his dear daughter working with him like the old CTU days

i don't care to see this "prequal" shit people seem to want

oh yeah in regards to spoiler rumor about people pulling up in a car...all i gotta say is that dead people should stay dead.

Please 'spoilerize' your post. It gives too much away for those who chose not to click...

I even made a post asking why people read spoilers a few weeks ago. I generally avoid major spoilers for the tv shows I watch, but since 24 has been so awful this season, I don't even care about seeing spoilers.

I've mentioned it in other threads, but I've always said they should set up circumstances where Jack would actually BECOME the acting Presdient, ala Jack Ryan in the Tom Clancy novels.

One of the only things they could do to get me to tune in next season is making Jack Bauer the acting President. That would be almost as awesome as an alien invasion (which I have been hoping they would do since season 4)!

This has been my idea for quite some time now. Show Jack a couple years later, now with a job in the private sector. He catches wind that a domestic terrorist (like McVeigh) plans to blow something up. Maybe the guy is even a friend/co-worker of Jack. Would be cool to see domestic terrorism instead of the old middle eastern/Russian/Chinese thing.

The key for next season is whether FOX will give them the money to shoot out of California. Like Neale just said, Season 7 could take place 2 years later with Jack working in a normal job in say Chicago or New York and accidently discovers some kind of domestic terrorist plot. It seems like Howard Gordon really wants a change of scenery as well as Kiefer.

Why is it even necessary to shoot outside of California? Alias shot all their episodes in SoCal and managed to make us believe Sydney was a world traveling spy. Lost manages to do the same shooting in Hawaii. If they wanna set it outside of L.A., they can. The only reason they don't is because they insist on having the CTU office in the thick of things.

True, point taken. I know The Unit does the same thing with Jonas and his team travelling the world while it's all shot in Hollywood. But, I think for a show like 24 with lots of location shooting and Jack running around alot, it would be a little hard to fabricate certain know areas of say Chicago or Manhattan in Los Angeles with Palm trees in the background. I know Drive tried to fake Florida while being shot in San Bernardino here in California and many were complaining about the mountains in the background of the highway that are non-existent in Florida.

Actually, it's 2012 in 24. So maybe the Russians are the bad guys again!
