Guess I'm 6 of 25 checking in.

lotsofdvds 04-30-07 08:25 AM

Count me in for this as well. Still the best show on TV.

Iron Chef 04-30-07 08:34 AM

I always feel the same way. I had the first four episodes of Drive on my DVR and was planning to watch them this weekend. Well what's the point after learning it was canceled. Same thing with Andy Richters new show. I didn't watch the final two episodes either.

actually i stopped watching sometime last year after some cancellation rumours were floating around.. so have 5 or so eps on the tivo, maybe i'll watch, but.. hard to care if its going away.

Considering how much that show has stunk this season, that ain't terribly hard to argue! ;)

Glad it is coming back!

I love how Studio 60 was ultimately bumped from it's time-slot by a type of show that Jordan (on Studio 60) was fighting to keep off the air.

Technically, I think it was for Black Donnelly's, which I think she would have LOVED....

but I follow your logic.

Iron Chef 05-01-07 11:28 AM

that's why I said ultimately :)

While I'm sure this won't surprise anyone, I was able to confirm with my NBC contact tonight that when this six-episode run ends (on June 28), that'll be it for the show. That last episode is the series finale.

Spoiler:
From the synopsis I saw of the final episode, it looks like there will be closure provided with the characters.

Please be wrong.

Unfortunately, I don't think the information's wrong. It is on NBC's Web site for their affiliates, and I confirmed it with someone pretty high up the ladder in the network's scheduling department. It's not looking good.

johnglass 05-08-07 09:08 AM

Apparently they've also torn down the sets.

No 'Studio 60' reprieve
Fans hoping for a reprieve for NBC's "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" are out of luck.

Although the network won't officially cancel the series until May 14 when it announces its new fall schedule, the sets are being dismantled on the show's Warner Bros. soundstage as you read this. Shows don't come back from that.

lotsofdvds 05-08-07 09:16 AM

I hate television.

LorenzoL 05-11-07 04:47 PM

Studio 60 will be cancelled next week.

I'm sad. :(

I'm sad, too :(

Bronkster 05-12-07 11:09 AM

Disappointing that it's not being renewed (not shocking, but sad just the same) - but at least we get a few last episodes instead of it just vanishing forever.

Trying one time slot only, and matching it with a show that for the most part has a totally different demographic, is simply criminal. Every fucker in NBC's programming department should be shot.

in a slightly more subdued tone, i agree with you.

Until it's official, I'm not believing any news about a cancellation. In the N.Y. Times article, it says that Scrubs won't be picked up. However, Michael Ausiello has an exclusive post on TVGuide.com that Scrubs will be picked up for an 18 episode 7th season. Granted, he's not official news either, but I trust him more.
