All Time Worst Theme Music

We've had a handful of "favorites/best" tv theme music threads, let's hear about the worst.

I just started watching Anything But Love on DVD and I have to say, it has the most god-awful intro music ever broadcast on television. I used to watch it when it originally aired and I must have banished the song from memory. Or maybe they changed themes starting the second season, but damn it is terrible.

Frasier gets a special nod for being the front-runner of non-intros and ushering in the trend of less is more. Which brings us to ER which had one of the greatest openings ever, but starting this year, is now one of the worst.

I know I'll probably get skinned alive, but Futurama. The bells always sounded too Christmas-y to me. I, of course, got used to them, but I can remember watching the first few episodes and going "What the hell is up with these bells?"

Wasn't it Ronan Keating? Not that there is much difference.

I liked the theme, but the melody sounded a little too close to "Louie, Louie."

Cosby Show. It was the beginning of the end of great theme songs once that show became a hit with that horrid jazz music for a theme.

Didn't we do something like this already?

No. It's slightly different. Not much, but slightly. They wanted to follow in the ten-second theme trend started, I believe, by Lost. Heroes is doing it too.

So, i'd have to pick these three as "worst".

I imagine it may not be popular opinion, but I've always hated the "Law and Order" theme.

Grrr.... I like the theme song, the 'Good Times' theme song on the other hand was pretty awful.

I imagine it may not be popular opinion, but I've always hated the "Law and Order" theme.
Do,do, do,do do,dodo, bum,bum, bum,ba, da!

Which brings us to ER which had one of the greatest openings ever, but starting this year, is now one of the worst.
I agree, I loved the old ER theme. one of my fav's of all time but the new one pretty much sucks.

I think if it came down to it my #1 pick for the worst theme song of all time would have to be...........

Lost- i know its not the kind of show to have a theme song but the supposed to be 'spooky' opening just sounds 'corny'.

I think having a conversation with yourself is the first sign of schizophrenia.

My vote goes to South Park. I can't understand a thing they say. I get something like: "...Goin' down to South Park gunna have myself a time...friendly faces everywhere, blah, blah, blah, without temptation...."

I'd have to disagree with you.

And so do I.

Well at least you agree with yourself. When you come to a disagreement is when the trouble starts.

Well, IMHO, no discussion of "All Time Worst Theme Music" will be complete without mentioning Over There. There should be some kind of law that the person that develops the series should be banned from doing the theme song, too. God, it was awful!
