3/25/07 Cbs: Pad, Pad, Pad

It's almost 7:30 and basketball is still on, so TAR, CC, WOAT will run late tonight. Be sure to pad if you record any of them.

Edit: 60 Minutes began at 7:38, so I imagine the whole schedule (ET/CT) will be 38 minutes late tonight.

all CBS needs now is Futurama at 7:00pm eastern so they can pre-empt it every week and they could be the new Fox for Sundays.

They do it every frigging week. They should cancel 60 Minutes and put in an expendable "sports wrap-up" hour that ALWAYS ends at 8:00. If games is on time, its an hour show starting at 7, otherwise, it starts when it starts, ends at 8.

That's a really good idea. That has bugged me for years.

There was a thunderstorm going through my area last night and the CBS affiliate spent 45 minutes of Race showing cheesy computer graphics.

I'm amazed Cold Case has been able to get any kind of following thanks to this ^%$&! I tape both Cold case and WOAT and I think about 90% of the time, I miss half (Or more) of WOAT. Before they moved WOAT to Sunday, I only taped Cold Case and always missed the second half! I used to switch to another channel at 10 (Now thankfully the other networks have put no other shows I am interessedted in on Sunday at 10). I still don't like setting the VCR for 4 hours to possibly catch 2 hours worth of TV.

Or a mod could change the date to Sunday, and it could be a perpetual thread, since the issue comes up every frigging week. I mean, why even publish a schedule when you have no intent of broadcasting to it. The time allowed simply isn't enough for a game, wrap-up sports coverage, etc.

Next Sunday looks safe. I only see golf listed and local news inbetween that & 60 Minutes. Wven if golf ran over (would it?), I think they'd just cut the local news short.

I have a standing manual recording from 11pm to midnight so I catch any possible overrun. If there is no overrun I just delete the manual recording right away so I can save space.

Sure, either weather or extra holes (ie, overtime) can make golf run over. It has even delayed 60 Minutes in the past. The only good feature of 60 Minutes is the clock. If you wait for the clock, you can figure the night's schedule to the minute.

Glad I live in the Mountain Time Zone. This is almost never a problem here.
