So, in the dream. The Prez was running to get to Hera. Athena/Sharon was mirroring her path. Neither get to her before Caprica 6 does with a mystery blotch in the background that I assume was Baltar.

Now, I don't want spoilers, but for those of you that know what is going to happen in the finale, is this foreshadowing paid off or set up here or something that I'll have to wait until Season 4 or beyond to play out?

das Monkey 03-19-07 01:59 PM

The plot demands that the President start having visions again, therefore her Cancer must return. Just like the plot demands that Apollo and the Old Man have a fractured relationship (to be later repaired in an emotional scene), so they cobble together this "Grandpappy believed in the system!" backstory to force them apart.

A TV series that's inventing backstory to explain the current behavior of its characters?! How cheap!

I read the spoilers for next week and I don't think that dream will have anything to do with the next episode unless I missed something.

I think the main purpose of that dream, at least for now, was to just have the prez think about number Six, which led to the tip about the radiation signature and the nice talk Tigh had with her.

I don't think I'm going out of line saying that it is freaking amazing.

Where?

That's because they want you to go to their hideously slow server to watch the rest of the scene.

I don't mind the cancer flare-up back aspect of the story, since it does actually happen, and I always thought the "cure" was too deus ex machina for my tastes.

I can't believe there is only one episode left.

bryce0lynch 03-19-07 05:32 PM

Head-Baltar seemed to know something he should not have.

Is that just more of 'Cylons being manipulative using small details' or does it mean that head-Baltar (and therefore head-Six?) are agents of the Final Five? Or maybe that all 12 models are still linked through some kind of group-mind, unknown to the 7 common models? And does that point, once again, to Baltar being a Cylon?

Bcolon 03-19-07 06:18 PM

What do they say at the end of the trailer for next week? It sounds like
Code:

Tirol saying "So does that mean we are all Cylons?

I thought it was better. Still don't care for the the Adama family drama but I still have high hopes for next week.

That did come out a bit snippy didn't it? I only meant that it's being realistic with it's portrayal, and that people should cut the producers some slack.

Is this really a "payoff", or just something the writers whipped up to make the trial more dramatic, only to be dropped later with another sci-fi magic wand? Only time (and more episodes) will tell for sure, but I'm a bit wary.

They used the blood of a half-Cylon, half-human baby; you don't think that's a set up? I have faith this detail will prove to be something worth waiting for.

Where?
There were links posted in last week's thread. For some reason, I can't find it now.

Figured more people would want to read them.

I'm pretty sure he was asking where the screener video was, not the spoilers in text form. I'd like to know too, heh.

Bandoman 03-20-07 07:24 AM

I haven't read the spoilers, but it seems like
Spoiler:
they're going to reveal that Tigh is a cylon. If so, that will be huge.

I don't think its actually available. There is no way it hasn't been posted on the newsgroups by now if it is available.

lopper 03-20-07 12:52 PM

Ugh...

This last episode was so boring that I went ahead and read all the spoilers for the rest of the season.

I think I'm ready for this show to be over.

SonOfAStu 03-20-07 09:46 PM

So let down. Knowing there are only going to be 13 eps next season, I'll stick this out in hopes that it gets better again (after all, it's only 40 min a week), but I'm not holding out much hope.

 at the poster above who wants us to "cut the producers some slack". The producers deserve no such thing. We should demand that they fix this mess they've dealt us since the "algae planet" eps started. That was the beginning of the downhill slide IMO. Starbuck was such a miserable character by the time she "died" that I actually haven't missed her at all. I'm more bummed that it seems like they left the door open to bring her back. The bar on Galactica is still one of the dumbest things they've done on this show. There is no logical explanation for why Apollo is working for Baltar's defense (just contrived bullshit).

And oh yeah, the President has cancer again. How convenient.

hdtv00 03-20-07 10:03 PM

Well hey at least we got to see a couple cylon base ships.....

Spoilers about cast member
Spoiler:

Pilots: Starbuck Goes 'Bionic'
Sackhoff will guest-star in NBC's remake

March 20, 2007
Katee Sackhoff
Katee Sackhoff
Katee Sackhoff is going from one remake of a late-'70s series to another, taking a role in NBC's "Bionic Woman" remake.

The "Battlestar Galactica" star, whose character was recently killed off (or so it appears, anyway), has signed on to the pilot, leading a list of actors that also includes Julia Ormond in ABC's "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" and Jane Curtin and Lex Medlin in comedies at the Alphabet. CBS has also added Angus Macfadyen to its comedy "The Rich Inner Life of Penelope Cloud," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"The Bionic Woman" stars British actress Michelle Ryan as Jaime Sommers, a woman who has her body reconstructed with cyborg-like artificial body parts after a horrific accident, thereby giving her extraordinary strength, speed and hearing. Sackhoff will play an evil bionic woman in the pilot, which is co-written and executive produced by "Galactica's" David Eick.

She'll be billed as a guest star in the pilot; it's unclear whether she could recur if the show is picked up to series.

My comment was only regarding the cancer thing. How convenient indeed that people bagged on them for giving Roslin such a miracle cure, but now that they start to deal with the consequences of that, you're still giving them crap?

I'll admit it feels like they've lost their way this season, but it's been noted by some that SciFi had pressured them to do more standalone episodes, and that's likely the cause of the change in tone of the show. I would hope that part of the contract for S4 is that RDM can go back to the story-arcs from previous seasons.

I'm just the opposite. I had no problem at all with the miracle cure. It would have been much more compelling, IMO if she was just using the drugs again becuase she WANTED to and didn't have to because, oh yeah, the cancer is back.

maingon 03-25-07 12:12 PM

Just watched it on my tivo and i thought it was an excellent episode, cant wait for part 2.
