The season 2-3 drop was also inevitable, since CW tried the "go for the mass market" approach to script writing. Not once have I ever seen a show improve its ratings by abandoning its niche in favor of the masses, yet such is routinely demanded by network execs. There is a word for "doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results": insanity.

maybe they're keep it on hold in case one of their dramas doesn't work out. surprised that they'd be advertising it on smackdown (i watch on occasion, and have never once seen an ad for it.

Call this crazy, but they could always start the show up again under a new name - thereby sort of giving it a new lease on life, without the stigma of the old.
I've seen plenty of bands do the same thing. After slogging it out for so long under one moniker without much success, they will change their name to make it seem like a whole new thing.
I'm sure this is mostly wishful thinking, but stranger things have happened.

I'd be all for Rob Thomas, Kristin Bell, and Enrico Colatoni (did I even get close on that one?) starting a new show, but I'd love for it to be a really new show with a totally new concept. I'd also love for it to be on FX.

I really enjoyed Season 1 and 2. I enjoyed Season 3 up to the stand alone episodes.
I'm just thankful we got 3 seasons. UPN could have cancelled the show after the first few episodes. While VM has very vocal fans, there's not enough of them.
Hopefully the Season 3 DVD's are packed with extras. Commentary from the cast, writers, and producers would be nice.

I'm not even really sure why I want the show to come back so much. I don't really care about most of the characters and the plots aren't nearly as good as the first season. There's just something about the Veronica Mars character, I guess.
