Painkiller Jane
I haven't seen any promos for it yet, but I know it's going to be a series on Sci-Fi soon. More good work bringing a comic book into another media form. It really is a golden age to be an old comic book fan.

I saw an ad for this recently on Sci-Fi. Looked okay. Or maybe I'm saying that because Kristanna Loken looked good. Anyway, the date of the premiere is April 13.

It's based off a comic book...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Painkiller_jane ...as a show, I'm guessing it will have some of the elements of an Alias or a Dark Angel, but maybe with a bit of a Matrix vibe as well. I watch a lot of Scifi stuff and like the comics, so it's a must-watch for me.

Well, not that I was going in with high expectations, but that was not good. The dialogue was pretty terrible, the acting not a whole lot better, the story was blah, and the editing was... interesting. But I'm a glutton for punishment and Kristana was looking fine, so I'll give it a few more episodes to try to get it's footing. Hopefully they come up with a better explanation for why she can heal quickly, cause what they offered up was really silly, even for a show like this.

I was expecting very little and the first episode was pretty mediocre but enough that I am willing to give it a chance. It felt pretty dry but many start out that way and I figure at worst Kristana Loken is damn attractive. I pretty much echo the above reply from wetsprockets.

It was worse than the original movie. I coudn't sit through the whole thing.
Edit: Finally got around to finishing it. It was bad.

Review in one word: ugh.
Review in more words: an unwatchable mess, edited like a bad music video with a predictable plot and characters, and populated by people I couldn't care less about. And those are the good points.
The sad thing is, Joss Whedon couldn't get a show on the air to save his life, and this is taking up air time? Glad I can put that extra hour to good use.

I liked it, thanks largely to Kristanna Loken. She is great as the tortured female heroin. The Alias comparisons seem valid to me, and hopefully this show will the void of it.

I kept seeing mass promos for this during Dresden Files, need to check it out.
Note - I am pissed at myself for not starting a Dresden Files thread! I just realized by reading this thread that if Pkiller Jane can get this much traffic, Dresden would have rocked on this forum. Now Dresden just finished the season and my posts will be moot. You know what, f*ck it, I'm pushing for Dresden anyway. Okay, sorry to hijack, back to your thread...
