This episode was great.
Imagine how greater it would have been if it was a light-hearted breather between hard-hitting information packed episodes. As it was, it was the highlight of the season (so far). And thats not good. |

I thought it picked up during the 2nd half, but overall just an ok ep. Other than "Dave" I haven't care for the Hurley-centric episodes.

A really decent episode. I don't think an episode of LOST has had this much heart or humour since episode 2.04 "Everybody Hates Hugo". A fun story and great character development that just goes to show that Lost doesn't need to unfold at a breakneck speed to still be enjoyable television. The promise of more episode like these, balanced properly with episodes that unfold the plot and the mystery (as I suspect next week's Sayid episode will do well) will see ratings rise back to near their former glory. Good stuff, Damon and Carlton.
If you didn't feel an emotional gut punch when the last line of the flashback is uttered ("I'll be here when you get back"), you may very well not have a heart. |
"Whatever, man!"
Just think, if Cheech was still hanging out with Chong, Hurley never would have been fat. |
I love the influx of hot asian chicks. First Bai Ling, now Sung Hi Lee. The greatest mystery of the show is who is going to be next?
|
It was an entertaining episode. That's more than I can say for the rest of the season. But it was filler. That's what 80% of Lost feels like these days.
And again with the blatant false advertising. You can tell ABC knows this series is dying. But lying to your viewers is not the way to win them back. BTW, on a side note. Didn't Hurley tell Charlie back in Season 1 that he was worth around 167 mil? Tonight the soon-to-be-dead reporter said it was 114 mil. |
I think 114 was what he won and his investments bumped it up to 167.

Thoroughly enjoyable and damn funny episode! "Jiminey Cricket"! Sawyer kills me.

OK, I've just been watching my local news, and the Entertainment reporter just gave the scoop on a bunch of upcoming storylines, and when they're coming. Anyway, some of this stuff seems to be around before, but look at your own risk:

What a miserable, boring, shit ass episode. What used to be an intriguing, exciting, fun hour of TV with mystery and intrigue and a show that actually answered something once in a while has gone to shit. I Don't need the whole damn mystery unfolded in one episode, I don't need major things answered every week. Give me something. Where is Rose? Why was Locke in the wheelchair? I mean fuck there are polar bears on the island, did we just forget this major development...Something?? No wonder ratings are down, this show has turned to garbage.
Week after week of disappointment, I mean come on a fucking corpse and a car, who cares! Oh but I probably don't get what that really means though...whatever. Oh but the nicknames where cute, oh goody. Oh and there was some beer, oh boy. Oh and Sawyer came up with some negative nicknames about peoples characteristics, oh man cutting edge comedy there.... and Oh no Hurley's Daddy left him for 17 years and is now back in his life, oh boo hoo, where haven't we seen this cliche at. Where is the sense of mystery? Intrigue? Action? Ya we get it, the numbers are cursed, no shit! The numbers bring you bad luck, no shit! We figured this out already earlier in the series... I used to look foreword to this show every week, I mean damn I blew through the whole first season in 1 weekend on DVD I was so captivated.... now, damn I am really really disappointed. And again with the blatant false advertising. You can tell ABC knows this series is dying. But lying to your viewers is not the way to win them back. I will save all of you the time and just add in the threadcrapping gif now, because I know the flaming is coming.... :crap: :crap: :crap: :crap: :crap: :crap: :crap: :crap: :crap: :crap: :crap: :crap: :crap: :crap: :crap: Oh wait and the goodbye gif too, can't forget that one, that one is always around when somebody spouts off about Lost... :bye: :bye: :bye: |
its already been said but:
"shut up...you...red...neck...man" "touche" rotfl |

Fun episode.
I don't see who couldn't love seeing superficial talking head reporter bitch get Spoiler:
As far as light/filler episodes, I sure preferred this one over the golf course crap from season one and the horrible Charlie-centric one where he took the baby out into the water. I think it might have been nice a bit earlier in the season to balance out all the others-centric eps, but IMO this season has been better than the first half of Season Two by far. |
Does verything that happens in this show have to be "monumental" for people to enjoy it? I can watch shows like C.S.I. or even Survivor and enjoy them for what they are. I don't see how people can complain about Lost and then turn around and watch shows like Grey's Anatomy and be completely satisfied. Shows of that type are filled with just as much "fluff" as some of you claim Lost to be filled with.

I don't think we are asking for something monumental. We are just asking for SOMETHING. This show has been nothing for weeks. I just want something eventful to happen. They blew this episode. Finding a car could have been a solid plot device - use it to find the other's camp, to traverse the island, etc. Instead, Hurley makes donuts in a valley. WTF? I'll never stop watching LOST, but my frustration is boiling over. |

Good episode. I really liked the relief I could feel when all four characters were driving around in the van. Well done.

Who needs Cheech in a bad rug who comes back to his family because his son has tons of money now. Wow! Thats unique. Never heard that plotline before. Kate & Sawyer return and NOBODY asks any questions. Sawyer just cracks jokes and rides around in a Little Miss Sunshine Van. Big freakin deal. I said last week that next season will be its last. I dont even know if it'll last a full season next year. The producers better get their shit together and start answering questions. Can't wait for Kate's 'Going to the hairdresser' flashback where she bumps into Tom/Zeke, the blow dry guy. |
I was hoping Hurley would drive the van right into where the others have their houses - would have been a good ending to an otherwise mediocore episode, IMHO.

I liked this episode, thought it was great for what it was. None of the Hurley flashbacks have ever been much more than some exposition about the numbers and a lot of comedy, so I wasn't expecting much more than that. I think we need to start keeping track of "year X will be it's last year...nobody will watch" predictions as well. |
Count me in the "meh" column. It was difinitely nice to see the other Losties who have been alomost completely ignored the entire Season. This light-hearted episode would have been more forgiving if the past few weeks had been some dizzying, hard hitting episodes. As it is, it is another episode with a show that seems to be spinning its wheels.
No plot was advanced. There was no additional character development. It was just a bunch of name calling and beer drinking. I had plenty of that in college. Hopefully the road map will lead them to something interesting. I don't really know what Kate is expecting from Rosseau. She should already know that the Others have her daughter. If she really wanted to get her, wouldn't she have already tried by now. What exactly has changed? |

 Funny dialogue aside, it just had a "filler" feel to me all the way through, with the exception of possibly the last two minutes. And even that was a reveal we already knew. Bring on Eyepatch Guy! |
