Any you realize that the next epsidoe is right at the halfway point of a 5 season arc the producers mentioned they would like to make. Things could pick up from here and go at a nice clip for all of you "answer hounds" out there. I enjoy the show for what it is and don't need for it to turn in to Die Hard on a weekly basis to take pleasure in watching it.

"Answer hounds" better than mindless people who will watch a show to the bitter end even though nothing happens in its entire run, which is still the case for Lost. Thats why so many people have had it , its the same reason people got tired of the sopranos. Great idea but not a damn thing really happened in all of its seasons, or at least to little did. Lost however not a single god damn thing has happened really from the moment the stupid show started.
The popularity ruined the show, they felt they needed to drag it out forever because it was a ratings hog for them. They never had an idea wtf they were doing, numbers meant nothing they just made it up as they went along. Just another JJ show where he left and now is in ruins. |

Nothing has happened the entire run? I'm not sure if you watched season one. Or you're not talking about Lost. For me, and I don't consider myself mindless, but it comes down to, did this entertain me for an hour? Answer: Yes. I'll quote someone that said it much better than I ever could:

It's a long-running TV series that's really well-produced, has extremely talented actors, is scripted by well-read writers who provide depth and fascinating story lines. The show's score is provided by live musicians. Lost's was the most expensive pilot in TV history. My point is that it's a great show, better than most on TV, and you should appreciate that fact. Be patient! I have a hunch that the pay-off will be good, but if it isn't, you can complain then. For now, sit back, take a deep breath, and enjoy the ride!

Nothing worth mentioning no, nothings really happened in 2 and a half years now, and by the massive ratings slide I've seen in the last few weeks it seems many people agree. It wasn't even in the top 20 last week was it, thats what I heard anyway.
Either way yeah I still watch it , but I dont watch it when its on. I watch it when I get around to it. Maybe thats what people are doing , tivo or downloading it watching it when theyre bored who knows. Its not the worst show on tv, its just people tend to get a little annoyed after 2 1/2 years in and 90% of everything has yet to be revealed. |

Hey if you entertained 3 yrs later that they found a lol hatch that's never been explained and means notihng at all 3 years later. Props to hollywood for finding such easily entertained people. Just because things happen that are NEVER explained in 3 yrs now doesn't mean....lol whatever clearly its like talking to a wall. Now back to tonights amazing battlestar.
Hell this thread has more action now than the actual show. Although I will say the last couple have been well written. |
So if we get past your dodging of the question, you still sustain that we still wonder what's inside that metal hatch they found in the ground?
|
Im not dodging anything actually you just made my point. How much god damn longer do people have to wait to find out wtf at least a part of it means. Only thing being dodged is good writing or at least a good plan for the show. But no lets drag it out so we can get ratings and not actually have to do anything.
Yeah whats in the hatch you think you know, you're just kidding yourself. The hatch might as well never have been even opened for all the good its done, and thats the point. Along with every other stupid storyline they bring up and never conclude. You just don't get it thats fine, won't be much longer you'll be the only one left watching. |
They can't start doling out answers until it's almost over because once they explain everything, there's nothing else to do. (And, this is made even more tricky by the nature of television programming where the producers don't know how long they have to stretch everything out.)
And, yeah, they never reveal anything. We never found out what was in the hatch. We never found out what happened to Alex. We never found out where the Others live. We never found out what happened to the tail section people. We never found out what Kate's crime was that made her into a fugitive. Never found out where Ethan took Claire. Never saw what the monster looks like. This I guarantee... if, next episode, Lost suddenly explained all of the mysteries, you'd have the internet flooded with people bitching about how they gave everything away. |

hdtv00 is blasting the show AND the people who watch it, while admitting that he's seen the most recent episodes.
Physician, heal thyself. |
Lost has a lot of episodes where more things are explained. The thing is, they can only have about twenty of those or so before the story is fully explained. So we get maybe 3-5 of those per season.
|
This show is all about character of people and their interaction with each other. It is also about defining and differentiating the fine line between destiny and fate. The island, Dharma, the others, etc are all really just the setting for which this takes place.

Physician, heal thyself. It's actually even more pathetic than that. He's not blasting "people who watch it". He's blasting people who enjoy watching it. And at the same time admitting that he's watching something every week that he doesn't enjoy. That is the saddest thing I've heard in a while. Although it seems he has company in this thread. |

Good episode even if the plot didn't advance at all. |
How do they name these episodes? What did that title really mean? Tricia Tanaka was only in the episode for what, 5 total minutes?

Nothing happened in Sopranos? lol
I am glad some of you weren't around during Twin Peaks to discuss how NOTHING ever happened. Anyway... found this and was amused- http://www.cpdserver.com/pic/randy/L...POSTER-lrg.jpg |

Last week's show bored me, but I really enjoyed this week. For me, it is all about the original characters and the original island. I agree it doesnt capture me like the first season did, and I dont enjoy the "others" at all, but I still enjoy the show, and I'm gonna ride it out. Its a beautiful show to watch with beautiful scenery and it still has a different concept that other dramas. I am riveted by "Heroes", but I'm not giving up on Lost. I think this episode went back to its season one roots.
