Actually. We were typing it at the same time. Great minds? :)

No Man's Land was such an amazing movie. And The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie was even better. Crouching Tiger, on the other hand, is severely overrated.

looks like a commerical for criterion

Better yet, install a conveyor belt on the stage for the winners to stand on. You start off on one end, and you have so long to give your thanks while the belt is moving you closer and closer to backstage.

Costume design was Marie Antoinette.

Seeker 02-25-07 09:28 PM

Babette's Feast was great - and so were so many of these others. Wow - gotta see the ones I haven't seen.

Too much Italian cinema, not enough Japanese (and yes, I know the guy is Italian). Were there any clips of any Bergman films at all? Or Godard for that matter?

Daytripper 02-25-07 09:29 PM

Some great great foreign movies in there. Where's "Ponette"??

Patman 02-25-07 09:30 PM

Isla appears to be adjusting his knob.

Supermallet 02-25-07 09:30 PM

Why are they even bothering to announce the other nominees?

Daytripper 02-25-07 09:30 PM

Cate Blanchett kicks ass. I can't wait until Fall when the sequel to "Elizabeth" comes out.

I don't see how there's any chance for any of these flicks up against Pan's.

Patman 02-25-07 09:31 PM
