Very disappointing episode. I thought the show was looking up after last week, but this was a very linear episode. And the marketing promos after the credits are completely bogus.
Like a few have already posted, a lot of the plot feels forced. If they keep stringing people along without a single anwer, ratings will decline even more drastically, IMO. I'll give the show a few more episodes before I give up on it. I'm tired of more and more questions and no answers.

So what were the 4 Questions they said they were going to answer on last weeks preview???
The tattoo?
Where the kids and Cindy were?
I thought they were going to be big payoffs but them of course this is the Lost Universe.

ok now im confused because of this 3 island thing. i thought there were only 2...the island the Losties live on which is also the same island the Others have their "staged" homes and the island where the others actually have their real homes which is what was shown in the first episode of season 3

Wasn't the boat that Juliet and Jack were on in the very last moments of the show the same one that Michael rode away in?
I thought they did a horrible job covering Jack's tats for the flashback. Then, an obvious arm body double at the end.

How could someone be disappointed it didn't live up to the commercials?
Why are you even watching commercials??
I thought it was a fun episode and have no idea what anyone is complaining about.
The show isn't about giving ANSWERS. It's not the bloody Discovery Channel.
It's about the fun and thrill of the ride. I enjoyed it, and I didn't even think the Thai chick was hot, unfortunately...

This was a pretty stupid episode throughout. I wasn't a big fan of last week's, but this was even worse. I knew we were in for some idiocy when Kate started badgering Sawyer to go back. She's supposed to be fairly bright and resourceful, so maybe, just maybe, it would have occurred to her that she'd have a better chance of saving Jack if she went back to their hatch for the remaining guns and to pick up Locke, Sayid, etc.
Jack's backstory was ridiculous. So Mr. Rational Thought finds out the girl he's banging thinks she has some psychic ability to see people's inner-selves and he responds by violently forcing her to give him a tattoo. Uh-huh...
Another horrible Jack moment: He's got the stewardess and kids right their in front of him and yet instead of pressing them for answers to what's going on with everything, he starts screaming for them to go away and leave him alone. Brilliant move buddy. Also, how in the hell did he recognize the stewardess to start with? I don't think he ever saw her on the island. I flew last week and couldn't tell you what color hair the stewardesses had, let alone recognize them in a situation where I'd been stranded on an island for two and a half months.
It's good that Juliette went to see Jack at the end. I mean, putting aloe on a burn is something that she obviously wouldn't have known to do from her background as a super-genius working in medicine. Oh wait, we just needed something to introduce some sexual tension between her and Jack. Nicely done, writers.
The 'Sheriff' seems like a pretty terrible character. The group I was watching with started laughing whenever she came on the screen to deliver one of her goofy, oh-so-serious lines.
Oh, and Ethan was the Other's fucking doctor? Why in the hell would they send their doctor to infiltrate a camp of strangers and kidnap one of them. Sloppy, sloppy writing. In a couple weeks, they'll probably be trying to kidnap Jin to come cook for them because they're all starving to death. Why? Danny was the only one of them who knew how to cook, obviously.
I'll keep watching this show for now, just because I feel fairly invested in it and am curious how it all comes together in the end, even if they are just making it all up as they go along. I'd be celebrating if they announced that next season is the last, though.

one of, if not THE worst episode of the series. what a snoozefest. i almost went to bed around 10:25 because i was so bored with it. after last week's masterpiece, this was a HUGE let down.
i'd imagine i'd be even more pissed if i watched the previews/commercials for this episode..
as far as the 3 questions go -- didn't alex say to jack at the end, something along the lines of, "that's 3 questions, jack!"? i dunno..
i really hated the episode though.. hope it picks back up next week.
oh, and Bai Ling is on fire!

And who was that group with the stewardess? It looked like a mental hospital field trip to the zoo.

Shame that the interest that last week's episode stoked for me came to a screeching halt last night. The promos for next week look good, but how many more letdowns can this show afford to deliver?
Anyone know what the ratings looked like? I wouldn't be surprised if this dropped to 10-11 mil.

Had they not advertised this episode as anything special, I'd have no complaints.
But when they say that the three big questions are revealed... fuck you, ABC. Stop lying.

I find it amazing that you people keep getting annoyed at the "letdown" from the previews yet keep watching the previews. Do you enjoy getting stuff spoiled? Whenever I read this thread I have to half-glance just so I avoid people who don't spoiler tag.
I thought the episode was OK, and maybe that's because I wasn't let down in any way based on expectations. I'll admit I'm getting extremely annoyed at the TV cliches to drag out mysteries. Ask questions people.

I've been on the fence with this show since mid last season, and last nights episode pushed me over. They revealed the mystery of Jacks tattoo, fuck that. If Damon shows up at Comic Con this year I'll be sure to punch him in the face.

If it's alright with you guys, I'm going to try and discuss the episode instead of bitching about it (
)....
At the end, when the showed Sawyer and Kate walking with torches and Carl and Alex looking at the stars, did Sawyer and Kate actually walk upon Carl? Or was it just edited that way?
I wanted to kick Sawyer in the nuts when he said he let Carl go, since he'd probably be able to lead them to their "home" on the main island, where Jack is supposedly headed.
The boat Jack was on at the end was quite a bit bigger than the one Michael and Walt left on, I think. I find it amazing the original Losties haven't ever seen that thing ferrying back and forth. And how have they never seen that smaller island? I thought Sayid was going to walk around the island? Plus they had the sailboat, I thought they went halfway around the island with it at the end of last season? Must be a DAMN big island.
Does Jack know Alex's name? I'm pretty sure he heard Rousseau say that name.

Anyone kicked in the head by the "beat the guy up because he got a tattoo?"
I know there are cultural differences in Thailand, but [Gob] C'mon!! [/Gob]
A guy wants a tatoo.
The tattooist says, "No! There will be consequences!"
Give it to me anyway.
He gets the tattoo.
Next day the guy is shunned and 4 naitives beat him up...because he got the tattoo!
How stupid is that??? If they want me to appreciate the drama of this situation, give me a good reason that had to happen, otherwise I will just come away from it saying that Thai people are stupid when it comes to their tattoos.
In other news...Bai Ling has a hot hot hot body and a butterface.
