CBS has always had extensive golf coverage in the winter/spring plus they have March Madness coming up, so bad assumption. I had already padded 30 minutes when I set up the recording last week knowing this, even though this was scheduled to end at 6:30. I would advise everyone do the same with their season recordings. That might not be enough today though.

I don't know why, but as I was watching the start of All-Stars, I just had a big grin as the personalities of the team started pouring out from the get-go. This could be a really fun season.

Good to see that here in Canada, there was no delay. I'll put the results in spoilers but
No big surprise as to who were the first team at the pit stop.
I'm glad to see Oswald and Danny are back as they are bringing the fun to this edition of TAR.
It was funny seeing Team Kentucky bringing their "nasty" side to this edition of TAR.

Good start -- would've liked a two hour premiere though (but we haven't seen that in the last few races), and a better challenge rather than trimming nails and cutting hair.

I have little doubt that Mirna and Schmirna are going to annoy the hell out of me this season. Just listening to their version of Spanish is enough to send me over the edge. And also, don't you think might practice driving a stick-shift in preparation? I could maybe see it if it was your first time running the race but not your 2nd.
I can't believe the fat guys drove that far on the rims.

When the task was first described, I thought they were going to have to rope a wild horse themselves.

That been my problem with AR for awhile now. This is called All-stars and you dont even have to lasso our own horse? Thats likely why Rob picked other one first time, he didnt realize all had to do was trim some horse down. Its time step up these challenges..zzzz..

I still can't believe Kevin and Drew are still in the race.
Rob and Amber discussed on their Fox reality show (in the last episode that aired this past week) that they were going to try to run the race with as little baggage as possible, small enough to not waste time dumping the backpacks in the trunk and stowing them away on planes in the special compartments (i.e., small enough to just chuck into the backseat). I didn't quite see how big their backpacks they were using at the start of the race.

[Jack Bauer]Damn it!!!! [/Jack Bauer]
This show is cursed with teams that could be interesting and entertaining to watch getting eliminated in the first episode.
I don't hate Rob/Amber, but so far it's looking like a repeat of season 7 where everybody was obsessed with them the whole race.
I can't believe how many "All Stars" got fooled by the "later flight arrives first" twist by the producers, that's season 1 stuff.

I think people should immediately stop from getting hung up on the "all-stars" moniker. You may never enjoy the season if you don't. It clearly isn't a race of all-stars, otherwise they would simply invite the past winners and 1 or 2 of the best runners-up. Same thing applied when Survivor did it and that was still a very enjoyable season.
They needed a label for it, and all-stars sounds better than 'retreads' or 'former losers' (except for U&J). Accept it and move on.

Kentucky is mainly cannon fodder, as are Kevin and Drew. But the big surprise was who actually showed up in last place, never even thought that was a possibility on the leg to the first pitstop of the race.
