The Batman (Clock King episode) -02/10/07
Best reinvention of the Clock King ever.
Still sporting a ‘70’s hairstyle and middle aged, our hero seeks revenge on Gotham for a prison sentence served for circumstances outside his control. Able to sustain combat (still don't know how he sustained the multiple wounds) with the baddest ass human ever known, (I would love to see a cross over with Batman VS Caine from Kung Fu) and his incredible sidekicks, by going back in time and knowing how things turn out.
A redemption tale designed to sell toys, you say? I say, “Wow.”
On top of superior TV animation comes writing of superior quality and depth. There are threads of “underrated” and whatnot. This cartoon is ignored critically, yet it kicks serious ass. (Not The Iron Giant, but this episode moved me deeply.) Toys indeed.

Caught it this morning, just had the TV on in the background, but this one caught my attention. This series gets some hate, but it's not absolutely terrible, but I also have to say that it still comes across as a little more "kiddy" than the 90's Dini/Timm version. This epsiode did seem to be a kicked up a notch from eps I've seen previously.
As for taking the punishment, I'd imagine 15-some years in prison will toughen you up one way or another.

I'm probably the only "The Batman" fan here so I catch it every Saturday. I thought the ep was decent and the ending was pretty cool. But I must admit that the way he came up with his power was lame.

Yeah, I'm sorry, but the original Clock King (Temple Fugat, IIRC), was infinitely better than this incarnation. This show is usually pretty good about the "reinventions" of the characters, because they stay close enough to the original. However, this one was fucking retarded. A guy that just comes up with his own power because he wants it? Ridiculous.
