Are you HAPPY when shows get cancelled (even if they're popular)?

I'd be happy if CSI, Deal or No Deal, Family Guy, Battlestar Galactica and The Simpsons got cancelled. I was happy Arrested Development got booted.

Why?

Easy. I didn't watch them.

So, I could be indifferent and just not care either way, right? Take a "I didn't watch it so I don't care it was cancelled" approach.

Eh, not really.

Everytime a show gets cancelled, that means a 50% chance I'll like the new show that replaces it. That 50% is a lot better than the 0% the current shows have with me.

Anybody else see cancellations as opportunities and get are happy about the cuts... or just indifferent?

Why don't you just say that you hate the baby Jesus? It would be a lot less controversial in this place.

Worst thread ever.

Besides, if BSG got cancelled, they'd just replace it with more wrestling.

I admit I was pretty happy when that happened too, since I was tired of my friends telling me it was god's gift to television. They oversold it so much and ruined it basically.

My Dorm last year actually threw a party when 'Seventh Heaven' was cancelled. You can imagine our disappointement when the CW brought the show back....

I find it hard to believe you like 50% of all new shows.

Or reruns of Jake 2.0. Or they will just air showings of the Flintstones movie or Big Daddy or something like that.

And trolling from a DVDtalk Legend...I half expected to see "new member" under the user name of the first post on this thread.

Your friends ever watch British TV? Arrested Development wasn't all that new of an idea over all, but in America, I guess it was.

And who oversold it? The fans? Because you can't blame Fox for that.

I know you Guess, so I feel comfortable in calling you an ass.

It's not like they are canceling bad shows and putting the drek you like to watch (wrestling) in it's place.

i was really happy when friends ended, i was one of two people that thought it was the most annoying & overrated show in tv history.

i wish (it will never happen) that both csi & grey's anatomy got cancelled, then more people could watch the hugly underrated "scrubs", its the funniest show on tv, i can't think of a actually bad episode of the show, even the not so great episode is better than csi & grey's anatomy combined.

one thing (now i know people are going to complaing at me left & right) i never understood was the popularity of CSI, to me it isn't that great, however if i was locked in a room and i had to watch csi or grey's i would choose csi over greys due to the fact that greys is the most annoying, overrated show i have ever seen next to friends.

I'd be happy if CSI, Deal or No Deal, Family Guy, Battlestar Galactica and The Simpsons got cancelled. I was happy Arrested Development got booted.
i think you have all the shows listed that i want cancelled also.
CSI, yes.
Deal or no deal-this is the kind of garbage that makes smart tv shows get cancelled because god for bid people have to think during a show.

family guy-don't like it, its not intresting to me, but i can see why people like it.

battlestar galactica- im not into that stuff.

arrested development- like most people, it was praised by people so much that when i finally saw an episode i was like-"This is no Scrubs".

the only one i disagree on is the simpsons i think it will end soon so let it go for a few more seasons, the movie might make people watch the tv show more and get better ratings again.

im not going to say you shouldn't watch a show, watch whatever you wan't everyone has the rite to watch what they wanted.
over the years i have mostly liked and loved underrated shows.
some of my favs were Coach (to me its tied for my fav show of all time next to scrubs), boomtown,Alf,3lbs, third watch and many others.
i have liked hugly popular shows as well such as ER and others.

Reba comes to mind of a decent show that a network is shinning off.

I usually just don't care, but for some reason I've been cheerleading Studio 60's downfall.

I can't take a thread seriously by a guy who has never eaten chili (Sorry man, the gift didn't count as real chili), or watched Lesbian porn.

I really don't care when a show is cancelled - if I don't watch, I'm not that vested in whether or not its brought back or not.

Except Grey Anatomy, I'm tired of hearing about who's gay and who's not and why I should care that the black guy doesn't like the gay guy. Fuck, maybe he dislikes him cause he's a douche - the fact that he's gay might be irrelevant.

There is a part of me that is happy that "Futurama" got canceled by FOX.

It saved me from years of getting pissed because football or some lame ass post-game show was on instead of good TV.

That and I have sworn off watching FOX and the show not being on there means I can stick to never watching that network ever again.

not Battlestar Galactica , one of the best shows on tv. Even if your not into sci-fi good chance you'll like the show.
