Rome - "Testudo et Lepus" - 2/04/07

"Testudo et Lepus (The Tortoise and the Hare)"
Spoiler:
Her treachery exposed by Duro, Servilia finds herself in Atia's villa at the mercy of Timon. Searching for Vorenus in the Mutina countryside, Pullo runs into Octavian, who has just won a bloody battle against Mark Antony. The new Caesar has decided to return to Rome with his army, and sends Marcus Agrippa to tell Octavia and Cicero the news. Meanwhile, encamped with a new army of mercenaries in Western Turkey, Brutus and Cassius have plans of their own. Vorenus and Pullo arrive at a slave camp in search of Vorenus's children, and are shocked to discover their fates.

That was a great ending. I also liked the new guy playing Augustus, from the BTS stuff I saw I wasnt too impressed at first

Who were those guys with Augustus though? Was it an army of kids? And Im not too crazy with the Timon story, I just find myself saying so what... I guess she stopped giving it up to him though cause it seemed liked an odd time to grow a conscience.

I couldn't stop grinning when Pullo met up with "Young master". My absolute favorite part of the series is the interation between Pullo, Vorenus, and Augustus.

Gaius Maecenas and Marcus Agrippa. They both went with Octavian last season when Ceasar sent him away to school. They were his best friends. The legions that fought for them were ones that had always been loyal to Ceasar.

Excellent episode. Vorenus giving in and holding his "son" at the end was a very emotional moment.

Very good episode. Loved the ending, the guy that was about to nail Vorenus' daughter qualifes as the last person on earth you'd want to be at that moment.

Poor Agrippa, he got shot down big time by Octavia.

Especially after they raped and beat Servillia to pieces. How about giving the "I am not an animal!" speech before all that bloodshed? Gee thanks, Timon!

Even I felt sorry for Servilia when I saw that she was about to be ass-raped by that slave with a restaurant-sized pepper mill for a dick.

BTW, was the show hinting at the fact that Caesar, Agrippa, and Maecenas made sure that the two other generals never recovered from thier wounds? Makes sence, because now Octavian marches into Rome as the sole hero

I'm guessing polly modified her contract to have less nekkid.

I really like how the tension is building up
Marc Anthony in the North.
Octavian on his way back to Rome with his Army
and Brutus off in Turkey raising his army.

and all the while, Vorenus and Pullo go about their business.

Servilia has had it really bad, that's the 2nd time Atia has battered her, when they cut of all her hair etc.

So, 6 more to go... Stuffs are getting interesting.

**warning history spoiler**
Spoiler:
I cannot wait to see how Augustus (Octavian) made deal with Marc Antony to side with him against Brutus and then turn against Marc.

In the big picture she's probably even right now considering she was one of the main people behind the assassination of Caesar and now the attempt on Atia's life.

BTW, am I correct in translating the title to "The Turtle and the Hair"?

What could it be in reference to, as it seems to me that Brutus is the Turtle, dwaddling with his Legions in Turkey, but thats kinda where the parable peters out

Man, I love this so show so much. I'm so upset that this will be the last sesason. It's so hard to believe, especially since the show is really hitting on all cylinders. I think it's interesting that we're finally getting some background information about Timon, although his storyline hasn't completely captured me yet. By contrast, Vorenus' storyline the past few episodes had been the one that has been dragging for me, but what a great payoff to it! Those scenes at the slave camp were really emotional and rough.

Let's not forget that Attia was going to kill her first, but Marc Antony and Octavian stopped her.

Let's not forget she bullied her son into conspiring and taking part in the killing of Caesar. Manipulated Octavia, etc, etc, etc.

Neither of those two women are nice people. Timon should have made them cat fight it out or something.

That sounds all well and good on surface, until you remember that Atia is old enough to be a grandmother, and Servilla is old enough to be a great-grandmother. Maybe Octavia and her friend could act as stand-ins.

Yeah, but it all started when Atis had someone drew images on the wall that prompted Caesar to break up with Servilia.
