Wonder how things will shake up when Liev Schreiber comes on (I assume it'll be next week).

I hope this leads to the end of Grissom and Sara. I've never been a GSR fan and thought last season's finale that brought them together was awkward.

Omg.......I really did not like the end of that episode. Scared me!

I'm a really big fan of CSI, and only CSI: LV. I knew there would be a new cast member in the second half on the season, just hopping we dont loose one!

I guess most of them (at the CSI lab) were thinking Gil wouldn't be coming back, but it seemed a little over the top... I mean, he's only going to be gone for a little over a month.

Anyways, I liked the very end and
Spoiler:
knew it wasn't the end for that killer... I'm telling you, I think it's his son...

So is Grisom gone for good?

I hope he comes back and gets to catch the model killer.

William Peterson took a brief leave of absence from the show so that he could act in a play in the East Coast. I believe he will be gone for 4-5 episodes.

Just at the beginning of this episode, I was thinking that the "model" killer wasn't really gone. Not sure why I did. Man, I'm good.

No mention of Catherine's questioning technique

I loved Nick telling him goodbye

Good to see the model killer is still around.

it was mentioned on this board a few weeks ago that the model killer was still out there. i agreed with that, simply because i hated how that case was "wrapped up". no way the case would end that easily.

Since my predictions rarely (ok, never) come true, I'm going to go ahead and take credit

I usually watch these a week late so I never get to partake in these mini-discussions, but I absolutely hated how they wrapped up the "model killer." They had this multi-episode build-up and the "genius" killer was some schmoe out of his basement? That pissed me off. I'm glad the model killer has returned.

Did they mention why Gris is taking sabbatical? Did the live webcam suicide of the purported "model killer" get to him?

Looking forward to Liev. Maybe they can get Sara involved with him so they can get away from the Gil-Sara nonsense.

Methinks its just a chance to get away and do something that he loves. The opportunity came and he's taking it.

Grissom (after opening a gift of a Williams College sweatshirt from Hodges): How did you know about this?

Hodges: I saw an approved leave of absence form on Ecklie’s desk. Don't worry, I didn't say anything to anyone else. Did you really think that you were going to teach at my alma mater in the dead of winter, without warm clothes?

Grissom: I thought you went to college in San Diego.

Hodges: Graduate school. Undergraduate was all about the Bay State. Crazy times, my friend, crazy times. Those Hampshire girls down in Amherst? Insane.

Grissom (with an amused smile): Thank you.

Hodges: Eh, you're welcome. (Hodges sits down) What are you teaching?

Grissom: The Seasonal Fluctuations and Observed Behaviors of the Walden Pond Swamp Mosquito.

Hodges: Excellent. Yeah, I don't know what college was like for you, but for me it was a new beginning. A chance to reinvent myself. For the first time in my life, I felt like I fit in. Not like now. I mean... you and I are close, but sometimes I just don't think the others get me.

(Catherine knocks on the door and walks in)

Catherine: You got a second?

Hodges: He's kind of busy.

(Catherine gives Hodges a look)

Hodges: Oh.(He stands up) When you get a chance, hit Purple Pint. Ask for Cookie, tell her Davey Hodges sent you. Drinks'll be on the house.

Grissom: (still smiling) Crazy times.

Hodges: Yeah.

Yeah, but does The Seasonal Fluctuations and Observed Behaviors of the Walden Pond Swamp Mosquito warrant more than an afternoon seminar? I think there is more to it.

Liev Schreiber debuts on CSI on January 18th.

His character is described as a CSI from Baltimore named Michael Keppler.

Believe it or not, there is a web site about the character:

It really hasn't impacted the show the way most people thought it would. I like the added story they have given the characters this season. It was really getting stale seeing these characters week after week just doing the same thing over and over. There is more dimension to them now and it has improved the show for the better.
