Friday Night Lights "Nevermind" 1/3/07

"Nevermind"
Spoiler:
The Panthers prepare for another game that they cannot afford to lose; Jason finds it difficult to adjust to life at home; Matt's father returns from Iraq, but the homecoming is not what he expected.

Heads-up on the new night!

I can't imagine anything more cruel than not being able to get it up for a babe like Lyla.

They really made Saracen's dad into a total dickhead.

at the band.

What was the warning at the beginning for? The only thing I saw that it could have been was the parapalegic porn, but there was nothing to warrant a warning, IMO.

I enjoyed 'Coach' and his wife arguing over the trash. Good stuff.

They sure made Seracen's dad a dick. Though the solution seems fairly simple if they could just get his grandmother diagnosed with Alzheimers; which his Dad completely dismissed.

Crucifictorious

This was a real good episode, most of the subplots hit all all cylinders. Mrs. Taylor is refining hot MILF for me.

You can be sure that the PTC didn't like the attempted sex act, porn tape, nor explicit mention of the word 'masturbation,' particularly in the 8 pm hour.

Just saying the word porn probably made them put it on.

Good episode.

Loved the band and the look on Riggins face when Landry told him they had another set.

I loved this episode. I'm with Patman, every subplot was interesting. Landry was killing me when he "realized" Riggins was illiterate. The kid has balls

They've really done a great job establishing the characters on this show, and the cast is just nailing it.

This episode really got to me. The 90210 stuff is annoying, but there was very little of that last night, and the Seracen subplot was heartbreaking.

I loved every moment between Riggins and Landry.

really enjoyed the episode.

lyla is HOT.

there's no drama in football without a potential qb controversy.

the scene with saracen telling his dad to go back to iraq was well done. i keep saying that saracen is one of the most "realistic" tv teenagers i've seen in a long time. i liked how his voice was shaking because i think that's how a real kid would be talking.

next week's episode looks intense.

am i the only one that wishes the panthers would just blow out the opposition for once?

They blew out there last opponent. I think they only showed a minute or so of the game.

I'm really enjoying how they are growing Saracen up. They're working on a great character arc with him.

Landry reminds me of a younger, uglier version of Matt Damon.

Another fantastic episode.

I need a gif of Layla saying "Dirty, Dirty...Dirty"

I really enjoy it when Coach and Mrs Coach have these little spats. They always crack me up.

Mrs Coach is very very milfy.

The Riggins-Landry stuff was really really funny as well.

He's the Cromag Damon from an episode of Sliders.

I loved how quickly Coach and Mrs Coach went from fighting over the garbage to hugging about the possibility of a new job.

He actually reminds me of the Matt Damon puppet from Team America - "MATT DAMON!!!"

Anyways, the "drama" of this show is so manipulative and sentimental, but dammit, since they do such a great job of making you really care for the characters, the manipulation actually works.

everyone's already touched on it, but i'll give my kudos as well. another strong episode.

the saracen "go back to iraq" scene was powerful. and there was a great addition of humor with the landry/riggins scenes. priceless.

I'm probably reading too much into it, but I think Saracen's dad's insistance on "finishing the job" in Iraq at the detriment of his family and things going on at home could be taken as a sort of political commentary...

Solid episode. This is becoming my new favorite teen drama. Big Kudos to Peter Berg and his staff for putting together a really solid show. Hopefully NBC will see that people are starting to care about this show.
