Done any watching? Addicted yet? :)

Been watching 24 since Episode 1 aired, and been hooked since. Many wait for the DVD's to watch them in a weekend, but I love the cliffhangers every episode. I got my brother hooked last year when he watched S1-4 in his 2 weeks of vacation. Right now he is watching the S5 set which he grabbed as soon as it arrived in the house

I don't understand how someone could stop watching seeing as how Season 1 ends...

How can you guys watch this show on DVD? And miss the weekly DVDTalk threads?!?!?!?!

Those fucking things are more entertaining than the show

It took me a little over a year to watch seasons 1-4 on DVD. Each season I watched in roughly a week's time - one disc every night for six nights. I would go to bed between 1 and 2am, then wake up for work. But it didn't stop there. I also had to spend the day reading all of the old comments on DVD Talk about the episodes I just watched, which were fresh in my mind. All I could think about during the day was getting home to watch the next four episodes in one sitting. By the end of the week, I was too exhausted from the commitment to start up another season right away.

I watched season 5 in two-hour blocks on WGN, which was a little rough.

I can't imagine what watching one hour a week for season 6 is going to feel like. I'll probably feel like a junkie with my supply cut off.

I just finsihed watching the entire season 5 DVD. The good news: Another fantastic season(although quite depressing). The bad news: I have to wait until December til I can finally get my '24" fix.

The President situation has me really curious.

Dude, just give in and watch Season 6 on tv. Seriously, it's a great experience to watch it with millions of other people at the same time and then running to dvdtalk to discuss. I made the switch for Season 5 and I don't regret it one bit...

Weekly really isn't that bad with 24 since it is non-stop through the end of the season.

I picked up season 2-5 during Best Buy's $20 sale, so I might just have to TiVo season 6 for when I'm done.

Actually, it's very easy when you don't read newspapers or magazines and don't listen to radio or watch TV. The only TV I watch is on dvd, as I can't stand to have to wait another week until the next episode.

And to the OP, yes, it's addicting as hell, but you probably figured that out by now. Enjoy!

There is no way I could not watch TV (especially the news) or read any sort of periodicals. If that was the case I might as well move to the Appalachan mountains and live like a hermit. Plus, I work in an office where 24 is always the water cooler talk every week.

Waiting week to week isn't as horrible as people are making it sound. I would feel so out of it if I chose to wait until December to watch Season 6.

Okay, I'm probably definitely in the minority here. I blind bought Season 1 a few years ago when Amazon had it for $14.99. I put on the first episode, watched it for 10 minutes, shut it off and sold it. Now I'm thinking maybe I didn't give it a fair chance. Or...thinking back to that night I remember I was very hyper and couldn't sit still, so maybe I wasn't in the mood to watch anything and I should've given it a fair chance. Maybe I'll Netflix it...

I definitely think you didn't give it a fair shot. But, IMO the show is not for everyone. There are the hard core fans like myself who watch it every week talk about it with co-workers and visit forums like these to talk about it.

On the other hand, there are the casual TV watchers who can't get into it or don't have the patience the watch what is essentially a 24 hour movie.

Michael Corvin 01-03-07 12:50 PM

17 1/2 hour movie to be technical.

 Ya think? ;)

I don't know of any show that hooked me in the first 10 minutes of the pilot, except maybe ER.

You are in luck though if you don't want to risk your money on a blind buy. Fox did that TV starter set and you can get disc one for $2.30 new on half.com

Normally I'd say give it four episodes, but if you are on the fence this disc is uber cheap. It only has the first two episodes though.
