Friday Night Lights: "Full Hearts" 12.05.06

Best damn show on tv:

Spoiler:
Emotions intensify as the game against intimidating Gatling High nears; rumors alienate Lyla and Tim from their friends; Smash puts his health at risk to improve his on-field performance.

dammit, they're showing Billy Graham here tonight. FNL won't be on until 2am. Guaranteed it won't be in HD either. Frick on a stick!

Great episode, though I wish they would stop with the last second victories.

The Julie/Matt date was awkward on so many levels.

"Wait, wait, wait. Is that a Members Only jacket?"

"Why don't you take your Members Only jacket off and hang it on the coat rack"

Yeah, they're going to have to blow a team out soon. There's not much drama in the last second victory now that they're on there third one of the season.

Saracen is the best written and acted character on this show.

Damn did Julie look hot in her first date dress.

I love this show. It's become the one I look forwardb to the most during the week.

saracen is indeed well-portrayed. probably the most accurately portrayed teenager on TV right now, if not ever.

"want a beer?"
"no thanks, i'm driving"
"it was a joke"

i still really like this show, but there were a few things about this episode i didn't like:

1) a last second victory on a 50 yard shovel pass? yeah, right. i know riggins took out the main guy on gatlin's D, but they have 10 other guys! most of the game scenes up to this point were at least somewhat plausible. i feel that this was a real stretch.

2) the random readheaded dude that spearheaded the "let's smash riggins' truck" gang. that dude was laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame.

but other than that, all good. even the scenes with buddy garrity were great (with coach's wife talking about the hotels, and especially his last scene with Lyla).

i completely agree with everything you said.

i laughed out loud during the scene where matt picks up julie. and the scene where coach is asking matt about riggins. then at the end, he points at matt and says "my daughter and i talk a lot!"...then you see matt wiping sweat off his brow.

great show...

Buddy Garrity finally showed that he's not a complete ass. Good to see. Solid episode. Kind of shocked at the inactivity on the board this week. Has everyone quit watching? It's become my 3rd favorite show behind The Office and House.

It's funny - I never realized he was Lila's father. I just thought he was some kind of mega-booster.

It's quickly becoming the show I look forward to the most on Tuesday nights. I'm just a little late in getting her to talk about it.

I also am glad to see Buddy not a complete ass.

Coaches daughter looked pretty damn good in that first dress she wore.

Coach had some great lines in this one. Is that a member's only jacket? Want a beer?...It was a joke! My daughter and I talk ALOT! Great stuff.

I'm still rooting for Matt. Had to feel a little bad for him about his date, but in the end, I think it turned out alright. Way to get some at the end of the game there buddy.

This show is a cut above everything else right now.

Is anyone else slightly distracted by the mole beween Tyra's eyes? Don't get me wrong- if she wasn't so damn hot, I'd probably not notice.

Yea, it's the first thing I see when she comes on screen.

Well, any close-ups they shot of me and the other coaches on the sideline found their way to the cutting-room floor. I did see myself in the middle of the fight. All you could see was my face sticking out in the middle of the football players. I then saw my back when they showed the outside of the circle of players. Oh well, at least I was paid for my time.

Were you one of the coaches wearing the visor, or the baseball cap, that were right in front of the camera with their back towards the camera?

The scene where Matt picks Julie up was great. I liked how Taylor kept mentioning it was a members only jacket

The scene with Jason and Tyra in the hospital was good as well.

they should have kept it close at halftime and then came out in the second half and had Smash running all over that 30 year old linebacker the other team had because when you are on the juice you dont get tired.

That was great. I expected him to add, "Do you know who I am!!!"

i also agree with saracen's character being one of the best written tv high schoolers in a long time.
