Has anyone been watching Vanished on Myspace?

I know probably 95% of the people in this forum either were bored to tears with the show or flat out hated it.

But, I think the show has actually gotten better. Since Gale Harold left the show, I think things are finally making sense now. Plus, I like the addition of Eddie Cibrian as the lead investigator Danny Lucas. He has a little more charm and personality than Mr. Harold. What baffles me is the show was getting 6-8 million viewers on Mondays after Prison Break and that wasn't good enough and was basically the shows death sentence? The OC has been getting barely over 3 million viewers and FOX is being patient with it and there is still hope for a full season?

The last 4 episodes that have aired on Myspace are really good. The grand finale is next Friday (the 8th) Hopefully the mystery will be resolved.

I've been meaning to watch the eps but just haven't gotten around to it. Honestly, if they don't leave the eps up for a while, there's a good chance that I won't get the chance to watch them. I still wish they would have just burned them over the summer or continued on Fridays while other shows are on hiatus. But since they are obviously not willing to do that, I do appreciate the fact that Fox has at least given people access to the eps online.

I thought this was a show called "Vanished on Myspace," which is about people who stopped updating their pages.

Well, I just finished watching the "Series Finale" of Vanished and the show ended with zero closure whatsoever. No answers at all about Sara Collins and these religious freaks who kept her in captivity.

I think episode 13 wasn't intended to be the final episode and before anything could be re-shot or fixed the show was axed.

Care to summarize the major developments of the last episodes?

I have not had the heart to continue with the show without Mr. Harold.

I wouldn't mind hearing a summary, though it sounds like another frustrating, unsatisfying "finale".

I watched the first two episodes of the season, then tivoed the rest.

My question before I try watching the rest is since the show is done, is there closure or does it end with loose strings? If it's the later I think I'm just going to delete them all and not bother with it.

Alright, just to satisfy anyone who's still curious about this show.

1. While Sara was in captivity, her captors injected her with a mini tracking device inside her shoulder.
2. Jeffrey Collins daughter discovers that she is pregnant, but is unsure of who the father is since she was sleeping with Judge Rainer before she met her boyfriend Ben.
3. She tells Ben that he's the father. Eventually she loses the baby and then tells Ben about her affair with Rainer and that she was raped by him. This sends Ben on a rampage to get revenge on Rainer.
4. The FBI finally locates Sara, but while attempting to rescue her, they get in a major shootout with the religious nuts....Sara manages to escape before the FBI can get ahold of her.
5. The FBI starts looking for Sara as well as the religious nuts who are tracking her with the tracking device in her shoulder. She locates a sheriff and after being taken to the sheriff's station, the religious nuts dressed in FBI apparel come into the station and kill every sheriff. Sara is on the run again.
6. After being on the run, Sara discovers the tracking device and ditches it. The religious nuts and FBI are still hot on her trail.
7. Peter Manning, the guy Sara was dating while she was Nikki, discovers the little girl with Sara's parents is his daughter after stealing a DNA sample from a cup while she was eating at a restaurant. He gets the DNA checked and then attempts to confront the grandparents only to get thrown in jail.
8. Finally we discover Tyner (Esai Morales) was another bad guy. He was secretly feeding information to the people looking for Sara. After hearing the doctored tapes of Jeffrey Collins sounding like he didn't give a shit about her while in captivity, Sara decides to locate Peter after he gets released from jail.
9. Ben goes to Judge Rainer's house and puts a few rounds in his chest.
10. Sara professes that she never wanted to leave Peter....End of Series.

Obviously they were intending to have the show continue beyond episode 13. Oh well!!

I was deeply disappointed and thought that even with the horrible acting and horrible scripting, the story intself was still good. But then it just ended. What happened to the scrolls? What exactly did it say? Was there a higher goal than to just read them? How were they organized and get so deep into the FBI and church and everything else? Was there anybody else in on it? Won't the FBI eventually look for Peter again and find Sara? There's just all kinds of questions and we're left with no answers. The ending of this series is almost as disappointing as the sudden end of Undeclared, where it just ends without an ending.

I've been watching every episode on TV and then online and just can't believe how much they screwed this one up when I thought the story itself had a lot of promise.

Well thanks for letting me know. As interested as I was to see how they'd wrap everything up, I'm certainly not going to bother now since you essentially said that they don't.

I gave up on it after a few episodes, but when did religious nuts get added? Who are they and why were they involved?

the conclusion is most of them are religious nuts. The reason (one of the reasons) Sara was kidnapped is so that Jeffrey Collins would appoint Rainer to the Supreme Court, so that he could sway the court's ruling on an issue and overturn a verdict/law/past ruling which would end up freeing various prisoners. One of them is a former priest who either found or could interpret religious scrolls that appeared to be some of the dead sea scrolls that were separated from the original ones and some kind of ancient interpreation tool with various layers of spinning rings of symbols in order to decipher the scrolls. The FBI found all this but was unable to get the get the scrolls or figure out what they said because they were involved in a shootout with the nuts who were in the process of deciphering them. Someone can correct me... they either needed the prisoner's help and that's why they wanted him freed, or he knew their secret and kidnapped his wife and killed his family, or he killed his family so as to go to maximum security so they could not 'hit' him. Can't remember which it is.

I agree it was a very unsatisfying conclusion to what could have been a decent series. I'm assuming episode 13 wasn't suppose to be a "series finale" and the producers were making it more of a "fall finale" hoping it would get picked up for the final 9 episodes. That's why so many questions were still left unanswered. I think if that was the case and since they were unable to re-shoot episode 13 to finish it with a satisfying end, they shouldn't have even bothered airing the remaining episodes.

I can't believe I just wasted all that time watching the last episodes. Looks like I made the mistake of avoiding this thread for spoilers.

Ive finally finished watching episode 13

Yeah a rushed unsatisfying ending of course. Story had heaps of potential. Was getting into Alias Rambaldi territory with the Dead Sea Scroll thing. Would have loved for that part of the story to be explained. Also seems to be like some Woodcutters like cult going on with members making their way into positions of power.

Loved Ben shooting Judge Reiner. Would have loved to have seen the Evil FBI informant baddie get discovered by the primary FBI agent guy and get what was coming to him.

At least the last scene with Peter and Sarah ending up together was somewhat of a satisfying ending.
