this is just speculation but....I think black people use the word as a way of "taking it back" and not letting it be used as such a derogatory word anymore. same with how gay peeps can call eachother queer and it's okay, but if a straight person says it, not cool. I maybe didn't explain that well, but I think it's the same reasoning behind both words... ??

Ok I finally saw the "n-word ep".
I still blame the Brothah for initially losing it, but I'll give him props for trying to mellow out and not smacking the guy when he was clearly trying to provoke him.
Also, that Colie chick gets respect from me for standing up to the "Black Hulk"
and trying to mellow him out. She didn't back down.
I'll also give the whole house Major Overall Props for the way they(the ones involved) worked things out and for everyone forgiving each other and trying to work things out.

And finally, Tyrie gets the "Charles Atlas Seal of Approval"**
for sticking up for his housemate after someone called him a "f-word".
**Points to anyone who gets that reference.

Charles Atlas? The body builder who saved 98 pound weaklings from getting sand kicked in their faces at the beach by promoting muscle gain through weightlifting?

On the episodes:
1: Too Fast Too Furious. Roomates hooking up and being best friends, making pacts etc... This use to be climatic points of the seasons that maybe happened once or twice during the 5 months ordeal if it happened at all. Then again, thats when The Real World was Real Good. (Seasons 1-8 sans 4)
2: Tyries explosion (which makes more sense after seeing ep 3) seemed unfounded and crazy but he showed good restraint whereas Davis flipped out. Drunkeness and anger is no excuse for the N-word. No matter how mad/drunk Ill get I wont resort to racial or sexual slurs.
3: Cool to see Tyrie getting some action. Seems like the brothas have been striking out every season since Alton from LV. His defense of Davis was good and he seems to be big on loyalty/having roommates back. That sentiment coupled with him being drunk on ep. 2 now makes his outlash on Davis make more sense, although it was still too volatile.

Yes. But it's a line from a famous cult classic.

1. He uses his size to intimidate everyone around him.
2. He only views women as sexual objects who can get him off.
He's a 2x loser in my book.
And what's up with the Christian guy lying for him with the women? He's another 2 faced liar and does not know the meaning of being a 'good' Christian.

1. yeah he does use his size like that. isn't he also into Martial Arts?
2. they aren't? I mean....er uhm...he's young and full of hormones just like the rest. I don't think he should be singled out for wanting to have sex.
Christian guy... yeah i thought that was weird. Especially after he made a big deal over the Gay Baptist.
To his credit he seems to have gotten over the Gay Baptist thing.

I agree with you on how he uses his size. Even when hes talking to Stephen about the girls at "Reggae on the Roof" he seems to always be abrasive. Id imagine me and him would clash if I were on the show. That probably wouldnt fare to well for HIM

That Jenn revelation made earlier in the thread is starting to sound more believable.
I empathize with Brooke. I'm a girly man - I can't fucking stand camping out/roughing it. While I usually hate the work part of RW, it could be interesting to see this group without booze in the woods for 5 days.
edit: damn - were there 2 new episodes tonight? Only caught the 1.
