First of all, gay or straight, Clay Aiken is a guy. Therefore, his hands were certainly on his penis very recently.

I didn't bother to watch the clip of it, but shushing a virtual stranger by covering his or her mouth is definitely rude even if it was done in a joking manner. Ripa's response would likely have been the same with anyone else.

On this issue, Rosie should keep her trap shut. Actually, I can't think of any issue where she should be allowed to speak. Ever.

I didn't see this myself.. but apparently Clay and Tori Spelling were on tegether at the American Music Awards and while Clay was speaking.. Tori put her hand over her mouth and said "I'll tell you where this hand was later"..

On The View however.. Babs thought it was time to give her 2 cents since she wasn't there yesterday and said that she loves both Rosie and Kelly ... Rosie and Kelly spoke again after the show and everything is fine... Rosie and Clay spoke and everything is fine.

I watched the clip again from last Friday.. and I have to say... I think Kelly was out of line. Yeah.. he thinks his shit don't stink.. we get that.. but she obviously wasn't letting him get a word in.. and when he joked around about it.. she bluntly ignored him. She didn't even acknowledge that he was speaking.. then when she started to ask another question.. ignoring his attempt to speak yet again.. that's when he put his hand over her mouth. Was this a good idea? Probably not. But, I don't think he was being "disrespectful" I think he was just kidding around. And I also don't think it deserved her crack (and it was a crack) about where his hand has been. It wasn't what she said that bothered me it was the WAY she said it. Very condesending. Very loaded.
I also think this not her first run in with him.. I think something happened earlier that we either didn't notice or was said off camera that put a uncomfortable mood on the situtation.

They were talking about this on the radio here in NYC this morning. Apparently Clay has had a dislike for Kelly for quite a while. Their celebrity interviewer saw Clay kick a poster of Kelly as he was walking out of ABC a few months ago. I'm guessing Kelly wasn't aware of this because I don't think she'd have wanted him on the show if they had been feuding.

I never watch this show but I recorded it because Mario & Karina from Dancing with the Stars were guests. I saw the entire show. Kelly and Clay were joking around the entire hour. I never thought anything of the mouth-covering except that it was funny. Kelly clearly played it off as a joke. But I guess that is what you do when you are on-camera. In no way should someone interpret that as homophobic. Rosie was stretching on that one.

And yeah, Clay is gay. It was certainly evident by his mannerisms on the show. Just come out already. The news would finally shut up those "Claymates" of his.

I watched the videos, and it seemed like Clay was trying to be like Regis is with her - kinda bantering with her and acting like that. She seems to like it from Regis. I don't think he was trying to be mean, but she didn't seem to want to let him get a word in. Regis would have probably done the same thing.
