First "Scrubs", then "Undeclared"...what should I watch next?

Ok, so before I go to bed I like to watch a comedy series to put me in a light mood. The short bits of a series, rather than movies have been perfect for me at night.

I've gone through the 4 seasons of "Scrubs" and then popped in "Undeclared" which very unfortunately didn't last long (but oh was it great).

So now I need to know what similarly themed series I should get into. I have "Freaks and Geeks" and started that last night, but I think I want something just a little lighter and more zany, like "Scrubs" and "Undeclared" indeed were.

Any thoughts/help on what I should delve/get into next to tide me over?

I do the same thing at night, I can watch usually one episode before I'm about to fall asleep.

I would also suggest Family Guy, The Simpsons or American Dad.

If AD doesn't work for you and you're okay with an hour long series that's a lot of fun, I'd suggest the first season of Popular. I haven't seen the second season, but I understand it's very disappointing.

Wonderfalls is also pretty fun.

When/if they release It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, run to grab it.

Finally, Newsradio is always a great choice. It does have a laugh track because it came from the era before it was okay for a show not to have one, but it's killer anyway.

ETA: Sports Night is also good.

I'll repeat suggesting Arrested Development as a good next show.

I'll also second Wonderfalls, although that's a 1-hour show (well 40-some minutes) compared to the half-hour shows you have been watching.

There's also the first season of My Name is Earl. The Office is really funny, although it can be a bit cringe-inducing due to the embarrassing situations that arise on it. Start with the original UK show, then progress to the US seasons.

Reno 911 has several seasons out on DVD.

For other animated shows not yet mentioned, there's Futurama, The Critic, and Clone High. Clone High actually shares a producer from Scrubs, and a lot of the cast from Scrubs actually provided voices for the show, either in guest spots or as regulars. Clone High is available on DVD in R1 from Canada.

There's also all the Adult Swim cartoons like Sealab 2021, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Space Ghost Coast to Coast, and The Venture Brothers. The sense of humor on these shows is a little more off-beat than the ones you've watched, and not all of them are to everyone's taste, but I find them funny.

Finally, some shorter-lived series that I like: Titus, The Ben Stiller Show, Police Squad! In Color, That's my Bush, Sledge Hammer!, Stella, Brisco Country Jr. and Eerie, Indiana

Definitely... I'll back the opinions of the author of "'Jimmy James, Macho Business Donkey Wrestler" on that one!

"Newsradio" is a good one. I loved it when it was on and watched most of the eps.
Can you get it cheap anywhere and how many seasons are out so far?

good picks all, thanks.

I do the same thing, but in the morning. I like to start my day with some laughs. Without em, it just seems incomplete.

I like Scrubs, Futurama, That 70s Show, AD, Curb, the Office...etc...etc...if it brings the funny, I am in.

Another vote for Arrested Development.

Weeds is another good choice that hasn't been mentioned yet.

On Amazon, Newsradio is going for between $19.99 (for the short season one plus season two) to $29.99 (for season 4). That's a damned good value in my book. You're getting the episodes for well under a buck each on the first set with the first two seasons on it.

This thread makes me wish that the following shows were out on DVD:

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
The Dana Carvey Show
The Good Life
Stark Raving Mad

Every one of them killed me. Heck, I'd even like to see Cursed/The Weber Show again.

If you liked undeclared you'll LOVE "Freaks and Geeks"

You might also like the ofllowing shows if you like quirky comedies:

The Office
Arrested Development
Wonderfalls(another great cancelled show)
Freaks and Geeks

At least we are consistant. I was going to say Arrested Development, The Office and News Radio as well.
Hope you like Freaks and Geeks. I liked it better than Undeclared.

There are some great suggestions in here, but if you want zany, look no further than Christopher Titus. I just finished season 3 a few weeks back.

I have to wonder about that... Freaks and Geeks was funny but more serialized that Undeclared. Of course when I first watched Undeclared, FOX scrambled the airing order so much that it was hard to tell if it was semi-serialized or not.

I'll second the recommendation of Titus, though.

So, I just ordered Newsradio S1-3 from Amazon with free 2-day ship, so I get it by Friday. I am really looking forward to them.

Keep the suggestions coming though as this too will end...

I'm surprised nobody has said Arrested Development yet. That is my recomendation. It was the #1 show IMHO with Scrubs coming in 2nd.
