i knew i would get "flamed" for what i wrote but it is an interpretation of the character. Several people, not idiots, metioned the same thing to me after the episode. I wonder what Will from big brother thinks of his idol now. I could careless if the neil patrick harris is gay. But the character of barney is an intrepretation of the perpetual single, horny guy by a gay man. I can't help but think about that when i watch the show and if you ask most people are thinking about it too. You can live in your ivory towers but it does cross most people's minds. Single men and the things we do are being ripped by neil patrick harris. He must be laughing hysterically that single straight guys admire or laugh at this character because that is the people he is making fun of.

I think Barney is a bit funnier now. I mean take this episode, he was getting a pedicure. That would have been humorous before, but now there's a whole new level to it. That and he's a womanizer that can't really maintain a relationship with a woman, but has no problems hanging out quite often with his two male friends. Friends he's always trying to get to "suit up" and for Halloween he even dressed up Top Gun style.

Face it, Barney's gay, he's just covering it up.

Beyond that, NPH isn't the writer, he's an actor. The writers are ripping on you, NPH is just the vessel from which they do it. If it makes you feel any better, maybe some of the writers are gay too.

An actor's actual real-life orientation has absolutely NO bearing on their characters for me. When watching Queer as Folk or Will & Grace, I never thought while watching the show "okay, now he's really straight, okay, he's really gay". I'm watching the character. And the character hasn't changed at all and isn't affected by NPH's personal life for me.

Yeah he is just protraying a role ....an interpetation of what he thinks that the producers and writers want. He is doing his job.
