Nope, though last night it was revealed that Hawkins has an FBI badge and identification card. But it wasn't clear to me if he actually was FBI or if they were really good fakes.

Can anyone elaborate on that?

I think it is just another layer of the onion in his story.

Btw, him with the sniper rifle in the preview? uh-oh.

I don't believe for a minute that we finally discovered the truth about Hawkings. In fact, there's Morse Code over the opening title of every episode. According to someone at HTF who is deciphering it, the Morse Code from last night's show was:

Spoiler:
"ROB NOT FBI"

I did buy Jake's story however about where he's been for the past 5 years.

And that bluescreen was some of the worst I've seen in recent memory. Still, this episode was the best yet by a long shot. And next week looks like it could have potential as well. If they keep improving the show at this rate, they're going to go from a Sell to a Don't Buy.

No people sitting around the bar? No teenagers? No IRS Chick/Farm Boy?

This is more like it.

Inching ever so slowly toward post-apocalyptic dystopian wasteland.

Maybe this show going on hiatus is a good thing? Since the sources I checked point out this show's ratings are in a slow decline the writers need to rethink this show.

'Jericho': Will It Come Tumbling Down?

CBS's new moderate hit Jericho will become the latest series to go on hiatus midway through the season rather than air repeats. The network said that the serial drama, which deals with the aftermath of a nuclear explosion, will be replaced by The King of Queens starting December 6. It is due to return for a recap show on February 14, then resume on February 21. (Jericho drew its lowest ratings of the season Wednesday night, falling to a 6.0 rating and a 9 share.) CBS appears to be following the lead of ABC, which last season saw ratings for Lost tumble when it aired repeats. This season Lost aired through Wednesday night and will be replaced by a new drama, Daybreak, until it returns next year. TV writers are divided over how the strategy will pan out, with some pointing out that out of sight might mean out of mind. Significantly, Lost has already lost its lead on Wednesday nights, overtaken -- by a nose -- by CBS's Criminal Minds. On Wednesday night the CBS drama posted an 11.7/17 versus an 11.6/17 for Lost in the overnight ratings.

Agreed.

I too had to laugh at FEMA moving the city. Guess the water table is ok 3 miles away.

What I'm wondering is if it's just dumb writing or a dig at FEMA? Probably the former.

Forget the 'out of sight, out of mind' crap. The problem with Jericho & Lost is that the quality of the writing and the show have fallen so dramatically recently, that many people are not going to give a damn when it comes back in Feb.

I have too much time invested in Lost to not watch it when it comes back, but Jericho is another matter. Unless they move away from this 'standard fare' storytelling and get back to the mysterious and suspenseful first couple of episodes, then I may not watch it to the end.

I was pleasantly surprised. Now we're finally going to get some real action once the Ravenswood dudes find Jericho and start marauding the town and killing people.

I don't know if I like the fact that they are splitting up the season. They did that with Surface, then they killed it. This is one of my don't-miss shows.

There was a guy on another message board who apparently acts as a recurring extra. He had some good insite into Ravenswood, but I won't give it away.

Also, someone else figured out the Hawkins thing using photoshop to enhance the picture he cut himself out of to add to the family photo.

I thought that this was the best episode since the pilot. The writers are walking a very fine line in trying to make this show a combination of a family drama and a post nuclear apocalyptic survival genre.

If they'd ditch the after school special crap and the family drama crap, the show would be a lot better. It's okay to use the dying father as a catalyst for action, ie: foray into the next town for supplies, but they should have been doing this a lot sooner. A town the size of Jericho wouldn't exactly have a lot of resources, even with a trainload of food stuck on the rails.

Frankly, I'd rather see some conflict between the townsfolk and desperate outsiders than watch drivel about some teenager bothered because her cellphone doesn't work.

And geez, *somebody* has to die in this show. Even though the nuclear bombs were just a minor inconvenience to the town, you'd think there'd be a *little* fallout from the things. After all, if a bomb hits to the west and the jet stream carries radioactive fallout to the east, you'd think the farm boy would have suffered more than a soaking during that rainstorm.

You'd also think some of the surrounding areas would have survivalists and militants out hunting for whatever they can find. Why doesn't Jericho have more visitors? Gimme more apocalyptic terrorist stuff. I really am not interested in Sparkle Motion Lady's problems at the moment.

The best part of this episode is when the daughter of the suspicious FBI? guy played the race card. Usually I poo-poo playing the race card, but in that particularly scenario, well done.
