I'm guessing they thought nothing since they're fictional characters.

What was the story that Jack told Kate at the beginning in the pilot episode that he wants her to tell back to him after an hour?

i'm pretty sure that was the story about how he had to stitch the girl back up in surgery after he had cut her open and he refused to let fear take over him. this was when kate and him first met and she was stitching him back up right after the crash.

From episode 1, season 1:

After administering aid to the others, Jack takes a sewing kit from a suitcase and slips off into the jungle to examine the wound on his left side. He sees a young woman (who later identifies herself to the unconscious man as Kate Austen) standing nearby and drafts her to sew up his wound, calming her by telling her the story of his first solo surgical procedure, where he conquered his fear during an emergency by "letting the fear" in, but only for five seconds.

Hmm ... does anyone have a pic of the "eye-patch man" from last week. Wondering if this is the same guy as Kate's husband?

Thanks. The only think i could remember was that he was telling her its lowing sewing a quilt or stitching fabric or something and that's it, completely blanked on the not letting feat takeover part.

Not. Even. Close.

But for the sake of "argument", here's Will Ferrell in an eyepatch for you

Well, yeah.....I could have looked up all of their names....or hell, if I think about it hard enough maybe I do know their real names.

Naveen Andrews, Jorge Garcia, Terry O'Quinn, Emilie d'Ravin, Hobbit.

How did I do? I can't remember Charlie, poor guy. He was the most famous when the show started. I can't even remember his bands name. Was it Slipknot?

I loved the episode. Thought the acting was great, and the fact that they are gonna be out of those damn cages is progress to me. Sawyer is only weak when they threaten to hurt Kate. And Jack did this plan on his own, Julia wanted him to outright kill Ben on the table...this way he holds the playing cards on his own.

There is so much going on, it is so hard to remember everything and everyone. But I look forward to this show every week, it still beats everything else on TV and its gonna be a long wait till February.

No Argument Josh. You're right, doesn't look like him at all. Guess we will have to wait to find out whats going on with that plotline.

....Perhaps the alcatraz-island is north? I also think I'm over the 'it's still one island' theory, seems unlikely. And right when Jack said "... get me off this island," I almost burst out laughing when Ben said "Done."

Great ending though... I almost wanted to cut my own liver when "LOST came up.

For a guy with a back tumor, he sure did endure a lot of pain while being held in the hatch.

I totally agree.

Nothing to complain about in my opinion.

Can't believe nobody mentioned Alex. I'm guessing Karl or whoever the other cage guy was at the beginning was her "boyfriend." I wonder why she's been exiled from that group, and where the "home" is that they take her back to when she gets riled up.

Seeing Alex and the mention of Jacob's list were the the biggest things I thought.

Overall I don't really think it lived up to the hype around it.

That's the one of the problems with hype..

I wonder why they lied to Benry when he asked if Alex asked about him..

Isn't Alex the frizzy haired genius girl who went out with Malcolm in "Malcolm in the Middle?"

EDIT:

Screw me, I looked it up. I'm right!

They were just that forgettable. I do recall seeing them myself, but they really just blended in with the background. Worthless characters. Maybe the show's producers want to introduce new hated characters so they can justify having some shocking killings later on in the season.

I sort've missed the line about Jack not being on the list. Does everyone already understand what that means? If so, clue me in, because I can't figure it out. My vague memory of the lists they made were of people they wanted to bring in to their (the Other's) group.
