so what are everyone's thoughts? I know it's not a true season finale but even the big cliffhanger seemed a bit anti-climatic. Not a bad episode by any means but just not as great as others so far this season.
Also can someone post the story that is referenced? It's been a long time since that episode so I've long forgotten.

Well, Eko's stick "told" John to look to the north, whatever that means.

Kate's flashback was boring to me.

I thought the acting in this episode (especially from Fox and Lilly) and the overall quality was Emmy-worthy. It's going to be a long three months.

Jack was pretty badass this episode.

It's gonna be great when somebody tells him that he's not where he thinks he is, and that Ben completely fooled him.

Why does that one guy want Sawyer dead? It's not like Sawyer killed his wife.

I have forgotten Kate's backstory, but is her husband the guy she saw when she was running from the cops in an episode a while back?

Well I'm sure he'll end up saving Ben...so does Ben live up to their agreement, even after Jack gets Kate freed, and get Jack off the island?

don't know what's the big deal about 'the' island being a couple miles away. these people are in good shape, they can just swim there.

hate how sawyer's just bending over and letting people push him around.

at least jack had a 'plan.'

wonder if we'll get to see kate hook up with any more guys with the next few flashbacks.

He'll get Jack off the island he's currently on, only to transport him back to the main island. Ben, as always, one step ahead.

I'm not sure how that went over some people's heads.

LOL, that crossed my mind, but I think Ben was genuine. He got Michael and Walt away.

I really don't think that Sawyer's spirits are broken, I think that he is a patient person and is trying to appear weak and vulnerable and then he'll just snap and there's no telling what he'll do.

At least Nathan Fillion was in it. That's something good about it. Too bad it couldn't have been more of a role.

Yeah, Jack should have asked to go HOME.

I was trying to figure this out last episode, but I was wondering if Eko's Jesus stick had anything to do with how Smokey reacted.
The first time he saw Smokey with Charlie, Eko had his stick. But last episode, he didn't have it.

Not that big of a Fall cliffhanger, but pretty good episode. Glad Jack took things into his own hands. I wasn't sure if he was doing Julliet's thing or going off on his own.
Have to wait and see how Jack gets out of this one though. Unless he's banking on Ben's promise. I think Jack just promised to keep Ben alive.

Kind of boring for a fall finale.
Not enough Locke and Sayid.
Where are Kate and Sawyer going to run to ?

That's actually what Ben told him to begin with. I guess Jack's a bad listener and it bit him in the ass. I can just see the scene now.

*arrives on main island*
Jack: What the hell? This isn't home!
Ben: I know. You made me promise you that I would get you off that island.

*shot of second island*

Jack: You son of a bitch!
Ben: Ya know, it's kinda funny. When I was showing you that tape and trying to get you to help us, I said you could go home. But then, when you held me up at gunpoint, you just made me promise that I would get you off that island. Maybe next time you'll pay attention better.

This was interesting, and enough to keep me until Feb 7th, 2007.....but jeeeez.

When the scripts for the 3rd season came out, what did Sayid, Claire, Charlie, Locke and Hurley all think? "UUmmm...I guess I can go to the mainland for a 4 week visit now?"

Welcome to the Sawyer/Kate/Jack show. Call me insane, but I'd rather it be the Locke/Eko/Jack/Sayid show.
