Ricky Schroeder's video games in SILVER SPOONS

Here's a silly trivia question, but do you remember the FOUR arcade games that Ricky Schroeder had in his living room on the 1980's sitcom SILVER SPOONS?

I'm pretty sure Frogger was one of them.

It's a trick question! They were Edward's video games, not Ricky's.

Right, they were Eward Stratton's games.

So we have:

1. Tempest
2. Gorf
3. Pac-Man
and

4. ????

I can verify at home. Comcast OnDemand has half of season one up for viewing.

I was almost tempted to bring this up on On Demand and watch an episode to check.

Almost.

ttppll is correct with Dragon's Lair, although Ricky didn't get that one until later in the broadcast.

The four arcade games are, from left to right:

1) Gorf
2) Asteroids
3) Tempest
4) a cabaret style version of Pac-Man

I fucking HATED that kid because he had those games in his house but he NEVER fucking PLAYED them!! I watched the show every time it was on because I wanted to see him play the games, but he never did! He never even acknowledged their presence, and just did stupid stuff! Stupid spoiled brat!!!

(I now have a Donkey Kong in my living room, and I make sweet love to it every day )

The Frogger machine you're thinking of may be because later on, they replaced the "Asteroids" marquee from the Asteroids machine with a fake game called "Swamp...Terror or something."

They would play it with sound effects of frogs eating flies and burping. I guess they lost the rights to the Asteroids name or something.

watching Game #5 of the World Series and they profiled Cardinals starting pitcher: Jeff Weaver and it said that his favorite TV show was Silver Spoons. FOX even played the theme song while going over the profile.

Weird. I actually used to think the same thing when watching this as a kid. It seems like they played with that goddamned train enough though.

I haven't seen the show since it was on TV in it's heyday. How does it stand up today?

I remember the episode when Ricky's evil friend (Jason Bateman?) tricked him into watching porn and they got caught.

Re: Ricky Schroeder's video games in SILVER SPOONS

Just discovered a few weeks ago that I'm able to watch seasons 2-5 on YouTube! I've noticed the games are as follows from left to right.

A Pinball machine
Asteroids
Gorf
Dragons Lair
Tempest

I used to watch the show when I was a kid. I didn't give a fuck if he played them or not. The train was awesome, because it went through the entire house and I was to busy ogling Erin Gray.

It's like having a whole apartment full of dead-format movies. Maybe Rick was a collector who was intent on building a museum ...

Second, I dont recall seeing Donkey Kong in the pictures.
