Did Hurley lose weight? I didn't really notice.

I saw somewhere that he started losing weight at the end of last season...like 30 lbs or something. And although he is still big, he didnt look as massive as last year. Dude.

Compare the pilot, to this episode. Jorge Garcia's lost a great deal of weight, and it's especially noticeable in his face.

Anyone think that the Others took Jack, Kate, and Sawyer, in one of probably many reasons, to divide the camp? After thinking about how Ben was trying to manipulate Locke back in season 2 when he was captured, I'm wondering if the Others want a power struggle and to divide the Losties?

Hence, Locke taking over the leader role is fitting right into their plans.

I did not read any of the old threads from the Season 2 finale but does anyone see, or could explain, why it is a day later and Charlie is totally disconcerned over what happened at the hatch, nor was he concerned where Locke/Echo/Desmond were for a day?

In tonight's episode he stated something to locke about Echo not coming back yet and John just being in the jungle. Not only that, but he didn't even go back to check out what happened after the implosion? Odd.

Patman - Is this the same girl who was in that cancelled show that started with an R...Relativity or Related or something like that?

She was in "Related" on the WB last season.

Since no one has mentioned it yet, I'll toss my theory on:

I think Desmond or Hurley, or both? are in some sort of 'Ground Hog's Day' moment. Thats why Desmond knew the end and the speech, and woke up nude (possibly died and reborn nude or something?) Also, Hurley stares at Desmond and mentions the Deja Vu....I'm sure thats 100% wrong, byut who knows.

I love it when the extra passengers start getting dialogue and possibly even names!

Desmond, my favorite character, gets even more interesting. When the hell are we going to see more of his girlfriend in the real world? Give me more of that storyline - enough w/ the others and the passengers. Concentrate a bit on Des and Penny.

Charlie's "they're the Einsteins of the bear community" line had me laughing my ass off for a few minutes. I don't ever remember Charlie getting such witty/goofy dialogue before.

I was happy to see Locke's back-story finally have a different setting. I was kind of nervous (not in a good way) when I found out that this was going to be a Locke-centric ep. Definitely his best ep since the first season.

I'm still trying to get over the guy from Locke's flashback NOT being Zeke. I'm surprised to not see more people who thought it was him.

I'm surprised at how much people think people look like other people on this show. Whether it's "the dude in "Numbers" is Marvin Candle" or "The dude that taught Sayid how to torture is Zeke" or "Juliet looks like Sarah" or "I swear that chick Season 3 started was Penny" or "Are Penny and Juliet twins?" or "The dude on Jack's surgery table was SO Tom" or "Claire's Boyfriend looks exactly like Henry Gale!!!" or even "I'm surprised there hasn't been more people who thought Mike looked like Zeke".

But you get my drift. It's all a little ridiculous.

Maybe desmond was the polar bear and thats how he lost his clothes or he's now the amorphous black blobby.

I think they are more likely to be kill fodder, like Arzst(sp?).

And I still dont get why everyone thinks Desmond has super powers. I rewatched the episode and the only thing that even remotely resembles that was him referencing Locke's unmade speach. Desmond could have hallucinated or had a vision was what I first thought of.

Desmond super power is the ability to get naked in front of men and drive them crazy. Yeah baby.

It's going to be alot more than that. Nikki and Paulo are joining the series regulars.

So I guess this part of Locke's life happened about 10 years prior to the crash. Interesting as I didn't realize everything before that was over a decade earlier. There's still a lot of room to make things add up, for better or worse.

There was no way Locke had killed Eddie. He was targetted as the way the mole would get in. If Locke killed Eddie, he'd still be in prison even 10 years later. You don't kill a cop, especially when the cops hand-picked you as the "in".

The opening credits made that rather apparent.

I think the dates on the officer's ID are when he started service. Note in the lower right corner he got some commendation in 1995. Based on what's there, I don't think that stuff happened quite that far back. You could probably say anywhere between 8 years back and a year or two before the crash.
