Jericho - "Four Horsemen"- 10/04/06

"Four Horsemen"
Spoiler:
A satellite television in a local bar broadcasts a signal from an Asian news program that shows the extent of the nuclear attacks.

I would probably be more entertained watching an hour of faux-CNN coverage of what supposedly happened than the actual storyline.

I like this, but good God, the HS kids storyline is ridiculous. I know kids that age are awfully "clicky," but I know for a fact that 99% of kids that age would come together and be supportive of even the "dorks" in something as catostrophic as this. They really don't need that stupid storyline for this.

So Mr.Hawkins knows what happened and has even prepared for it. That's great and all but we'd better find out next episode.

The whole Payton Manning cheating on his wife thing is pretty stupid too.

Besides the sucker punch, the rest of the episode lacked punch.

Love how .jr can retrieve a cockpit voice recorder and play it on a reel 2 reel, and then do some amazing magic to draw out that one faint transmission in the background by flipping a few switches. Oh, and the planes had to land on the highways, because they apparently couldn't navigate without ATC, or use one of the thousands of small airports that cover the country. I know I'm supposed to suspend rational thought for this show, but it's getting pretty ridiculous.

"It's not what it looks like!" as they are just sitting there playing cards but she said it as if they walked in on her doing some mexican donkey show.. Toooooooooooooo funny, hell it was not even strip poker..

that was beyond cheesy.. more so when as I have said in other threads for the show, everyone knows a nuke has gone off.. Seems like 1/2 the reactions etc are more along the lines of "well maybe something happend but I don't think so"..

eh, still enjoying the show more then I thought I would..

"No ATC? HOW DO WE FIND THE AIRPORT?!?!?"

"Let's just fly around until we run out of gas."

"Ok, sounds good."

Does anyone else forsee

Spoiler:
Zombie-type things coming?

They should change the name of Skeet's character to MacGyver.

He's not MacGyver...but I think I've figured out why he seems to have so many skills, and so much knowledge:
Spoiler:
He used to be a cop in St. Louis!

Actually, here's what I think is going to happen:

Spoiler:
The people in Jericho are going to be attacked by aliens. It turns out that the US nuked itself because aliens were invading, so they decided "screw it, if we can't have it neither can they".

Spoiler:
Hey, at least that would be more plausible and interesting than the crap going on now

So radiated people from Denver will randomly find some little town in the middle of the cornfields? Oh wait... I forgot Jericho and Denver are within each other's sight line.

This episode shows, when they were trying to figure out what cities got hit after seeing the newscast, that it pays to have TIVO.

I laughed at the punch as well. It looked more like a push than a punch.

Overall I liked this episode quite a bit better than the last.

Then Lost came on and I remembered what Jericho could have been.

So far each episode has been less satisfying than the previous ones. I realize that perfect logic will not exist in a fantasy/sci-fi based show, but c'mon, guys, at least make an effort.

This show is starting to stink like fish left in the hot sun.

So after a radioactive rain storm all the "cool" teens tell their parents that they are going to hang out over their friends house?

Of course, because they are "cool", their parents say go ahead - be careful of any nuclear fall out, and be back before the zombies from Denver get here

It's like they took some fired writers from Gilmore Girls and Dawson's Creek and told them to write a show about a small town after a nuclear attack. This show wants to be Lost but I think the only thing CBS can do right is make "murderer of the week" shows like CSI.

Just to add an actual theory to this thread

The black dude is probably part of a government program to provide military and government leadership in case this happened and a resistance/rebellion needed to be generated.
