No thread for this one yet? I guess everyone's given up on it since the recent "hiatus" announcement.
I liked the way they shook things up with a civil case instead of the usual criminal defense cases. Unfortunately, this show continued the streak of innocent clients and winning verdicts. As the saying goes, "Strikeouts are boring."
Maybe if they mixed things up I'd be more interested in this show. But as things stand right now, I've only got 2 tuners on my DVR. And they'll be taping Lost and Criminal Minds. I don't think I'll miss this show that much.
Didn't last week's preview show a different episode? I wonder what happened to that one?

But they gave you the fakeout with the mom's facial expression and looking at the belt, how could you be disappointed?
It was the best episode in the past couple of weeks, mostly becasue Ron was heavily involved and Kerr Smith took a backseat, but the verdict and ending is killing this show.

over all I really liked this ep too, same as I have the past ones... main problem with the show is that the pace of every ep starts to feel the same.. Down side of the show just doing a pure case focus. They can't really slow down to show characters or anything else, just no time..
but I still like the show, mostly due to the cast..

Maybe Shark can be that show. Even though TNT&G ended up being on the right side yet again, I'm glad the mother didn't commit suicide. I wouldn't have been able to believe that at all, on a rollercoaster sitting right next to her daughter.

I have to agree with the comments so far - it was a good episode, but they are wasting the clever concept that they've been touting to sell the show. The "big finish" is an anti-climax and so the show always ends with a sense of disappointment.

That was an enjoyable episode, although I did find myself wishing that the mom or even the daughter unbuckled the belt.
$30 million verdict?
The epilogue to this story would have included a remittur because, to be blunt, that mom's life was nowhere near worth $30M.

The mother dying of cancer and taking antidepressants would not have been a surprise since the Medical Examiner would have discovered it during his examination and it would have been in his report.
Apparently there was no official investigation of this fatal accident by any local/state officials. It was never mentioned by anyone, and the park was able to destroy all the pictures taken by the ride camera that day (one of the first things any competent investigator would have seized right away).
Did the seatbelt malfunction (didn't they say at the beginning there was nothing wrong with the seat belts?) or did the mother not buckle it correctly?
I know it was addressed during the show, but a roller coaster with automobile seatbelts and no lap bar?
Who designs a roller coaster with a giant metal beam across the tracks a few feet above passengers heads?

I still enjoy this show, but as others have said, I think it would be better if TNT&G wasn't always right. Although there might be some slight differences, everything they have argued has been right on. Do they really think the audience wouldn't be able to handle having the firm argue something that wasn't true? I really dig the idea of showing what really happens; I just wish they would shake it up a little.
Does anyone else think this show would really rock if it was set up like Murder One, where there's one case that takes up the entire season? I would love to see Victor Garber in that kind of role. As it is, I'm just happy we get to still see him regularly after Alias' cancellation.

I still like the show, I guess I like Victor Garber that much.
The "What Really Happened" wrap up at the end is an awesome idea, but useless if it simply shows us exactly what we thought happened.
Ok, so the hot girl from a few episodes ago didn't stab him by whipping around and fighting him off, but stabbed him while facing him. And she took the money. Big deal! She killed him! In self defense! That's what she said happened.
With Roller Coaster mom I was HOPING it was a last minute thought of suicide. She simply stood up. Wouldn't hold up in court, but she was an idiot anyway who may have thought that may work.
When she gave the "frown of deceiving" I thought 'Ok, this was suicide'. Then she started to smile again and all was well. Ooops then the belt which clicked in place suddenly came undone. Wow.
They seemed to make a big deal about the attendant not noticing the flashing light. Are we supposed to believe that when the light comes on they would STOP the ride? Were we supposed to think that is normal procedure and after all of this, the park WAS at fault?
Did anyone else think it looked really cool when she hit the beam in the wrap up? I thought it was well done, and in slow motion. Made me feel really sad, thought for the girl.
I guess the viewer is supposed to be happy that even though the girl missed out on 2-3 more months with her mom, she got $30 mil out of it, $20 mil after Ron takes his share.
No matter. I like it and will watch more when they show them to me.

Best episode so far, IMO. I like this show.. it's growing on me... as I said before, I like it because it's a "1-and-done" show... no lingering storylines... easy to pick up, watch, and forget.

I also thought that it was the best episode so far. I actually totally forgot about how everything is explained at the end, so it was a nice little surprise when that came on. They have to do a better job with some swerves though. Usually, I am complaining that there are too many swerves in shows like L&O, but this is one show that could do with more.

I'm sure we'll get the "that's not what really happened" soon - there have only been what, 4 episodes? I love Victor Garber, so I'm with the show until the bitter end.
Thank god I wasn't the only one that noticed that. I swear they promo-ed the crucifixion one.

Vanished" will air in the Friday 8 p.m. berth that week. Fox has been airing repeats in that slot. A reality show is expected to replace "Justice" on Wednesday.

That works for me. I wouldn't have been able to record it in HD when it returned anyway since Lost and OTH occupy that slot now. I presently record only one thing in the Mon 9pm slot: Heroes, so I have room for this there.
