Veronica Mars season 3 premiere streamed

The CW has made the season 3 premiere episode for Veronica Mars available via streaming. Click here.

It's good to have this show back, and I liked the premiere.

LorenzoL 09-26-06 12:23 AM

Thanks for the link Patman.

Awesome premiere!!! If the quality of the premiere episode holds up the rest of the season, we are in for a treat.

Is it weird that I instantly recognized Veronica's professor as Professor Lasky who dated Kelly on Saved By The Bell: The College Years? (He really hasn't aged well)

Well, he did catch a deadly virus in Season 3 of 24.;)

Good premiere. I liked the new additions to the cast. And Duncan won't be missed.

LorenzoL 09-26-06 12:43 AM

I love the new opening credits and the new cast addition are not bad.

MrX 09-26-06 01:11 AM

Like the new credits, but didn't care for the redo of the opening song.

Pretty good episode. Kristen Bell looks even hotter with the long blonde hair.

dvd182 09-26-06 01:48 AM

Really good episode. The dialogue was smooth and the new characters look like they will fit okay (or at least better than Jackie).

I just hope she doesn't get it shaved off. They've already did the whole Veronice rape thing.

I could not possibly disagree more.

dolphinboy 09-26-06 02:39 AM

I'm not gonna watch it until it airs, but I checked out the opening credits.

Not better than the old one.

I kind of liked the new look, but the re-do of the song was a mistake. That tune got me into the show.

My wife and I would sometimes pump our fists and bump into one another like we were in a mosh pit. (we're really gay)

I too prefer Kristen with shorter hair, but she's a beautiful woman and nothing is going to get me down now that MAC is a regular. Only 2 seasons too late. Hopefully, there will be 5 or 6 more with her to make up for it (as long as she stays on Big Love too).

Jimmy James 09-26-06 03:37 AM

I just couldn't resist watching. I approve of all changes/additions except the theme music change.

"What the 'frack' does that mean?" rotfl

sven 09-26-06 03:48 AM

That was a very good episode. Both of the new cast member were pretty good. The stuff with Keith had me kinda confused though. But I'll just leave it at that until the show actually airs.

gatoinfeliz 09-26-06 04:43 AM

Very good season opener. I really hope enough people get word about this show, otherwise this will definitely be its last year. Also, who is the guy with Keith? Was he in the last season? The new guy is alright but I immediately could not stand the new girl. She's like the sluttier white version of Jackie. I love the new credits but am torn on the remade song. Parts of it I like but the whole point of season 3 for the most part is to grap as many new viewers as possible and the slowed-up song might kind of give the wrong impression. It's nice to have Veronica and Logan back together, I just hope they don't split them up just for the sake of reconciliations and such. Now with the resolution to Season 2 over, I find Dick's character as besides the point, move on.

I love the fact that Mac and Lamb are full cast members now, like someone mentioned already, it was 2 seasons late but still much appreciated. I kinda of got the feeling that Charisma Carpenter's character would have quite possibly been able to stay as a full cast member but the actress' salary would have probably been to burdenful, especially since it's very much ratings challenged. (I haven't seen the full episode at this point though...)

For being back I found the show to be more enjoyable than previous and very accesible than most of the other returning shows' premieres, most of the other shows kinda of felt off (Nip/Tuck). I liked the very witty remarks from Veronica as usual (the whole planets dialogue).

What will be it's compitition on Tuesdays by the way?

****OK, saw the whole episode
Spoiler:
her getting killed pretty much sums my little thought up

Oh and how did I know that was going to happen (you'll know what I mean).

As for Dick,
Spoiler:
that moment at the end changed my mind, hopefully they take the douche-bag out of him without sacrficing his humor

Sir_Fireboard 09-26-06 06:43 AM

Wow, I had my reservations about this season with them talking about making it more accessible and trying to appeal to a wider audience, but I have to say I didn't get any hint of "Blah blah blah EXPOSITION" throughout the entire episode. At first I was on high alert for any lengthy explanations of things, but what they did fill us in on flowed and wasn't remotely annoying.

Overall the premiere rocked and I now have very high hopes for S3 of the show.

At first I haaaated the new credits, but they're growing on me very slowly. Even though I still like the old ones better.

I was set to drop this show ... until I read this thread.

Veronica is a strange one. She doesn't get that reference, yet she toasts with the new guy by saying "boom goes the dynamite".:)

Except this girl can actually seems like she can act and she doesnt look like some beat her in the face with a frying pan for hours. So yeah bascially she is as much like Jackie and Veronica or Mac are. She seems like the prefect counter to the snarky Veronica and the dorky Mac to me.

Nuff 09-26-06 04:14 PM

Just found this show last week from Netflix...I have to say I had heard it was a very good show but I really was not terribly interested. I was expecting to not like it and found out I really enjoyed it. Haven't read this thread until I finish the last 2 eps of season 1 and all of season 2 but I'm definitely adding it to my season pass list. :)

rfduncan 09-26-06 04:41 PM

Oh boy - a week away and I only have 2 episodes in season 2 to be all caught up. I can't wait. However in my haste to get through the first two seasons, I'm now conditioned to being able to see 2-3 at any given time. Having to wait at least a WEEK between episodes looks like it might be torture! Not to mention various reruns and holiday hiatus! :hairpull:

sven 09-26-06 05:53 PM

Haha I had the same problem starting with season 2.

wergo 09-26-06 06:11 PM

I like the new theme.
Not so fond of Veronica's new hairdo.
Loved the episode.

She's studying criminology? What does she want to be when she grows up - Batman? Didn't Rob Thomas see 'Clerks 2" this summer?

Rypro 525 09-26-06 06:30 PM

idiot question, I am trying to get my girl to watch this with me next tuesday (both of us are big fans of gilmore girls). I was wondering if I'll have to spend most of the commercial breaks explaining season 1 and 2 references, or is it easy for new viewers.

Jimmy James 09-26-06 07:26 PM

I'd suggest giving her a 5 minute overview before GG next Tuesday. Explain the big mysteries and what's going on with Kendall and the case. That should hold her. The season 3 premiere does spoil the season 2 mystery, so be aware of that.

sven 09-26-06 07:26 PM

First episode was pretty stand alone. Just give her the basics and she should be alright.
