Thanks for posting the link! I would have never known it was available via the net if it wasn't for this site. That was a good way to start out the season. Last season a few of the episodes would leave me thinking WTH happened, but they were better than alot of the other shows on tv. I could see the ending coming from a mile away though. I guess I have seen so many tv and movies that I can easily predict what will happen.
Spoiler:

Can't wait to see this as it airs.
|
Ahhh...Veronica is back and I must say this is much better then last years Premiere. Love the new characters.
|
I dislike the different version of the theme song. The visuals for the credits are okay, but a little too dank.
|
It was better than most of the second season episodes, but it still was lacking. Keith's storyline felt so long, and it was a big so what. Once the roommate was introduced, you knew what was going to happen--sexually active girls must be punished. It's even more jarring when they have Dick so pathetic that we're meant to feel sorry for him. Not a fan of the opening credits--song is way too slow although the visuals do have a noir feel. I did wonder why Dohring gets higher billing and poor Capra is behind all of the new people.
Bell was back in form after last year where I felt she pushed too hard especially the hysteria of the season finale. Majorino is a welcome presence. She conveys so much with so little. Dohring and Hansen had their moments; I missed Capra as usual. Not sure what to make of the new characters, but they are definitely not as annoying as season two's supporting characters. The episode made sense and except for the stuff with Keith was accessible for a first timer. I just we didn't have yet another VM mystery involving rape. Enough already. |
If your character is banging Veronica Mars, you get the higher billing. :D
|
Only watched the first 10 minutes, as I want to save the rest for Tuesday.
I was also glad to see Mac added to the opening credits. Yay. |
It always seems that reworked theme songs are never as good as the original. This one is no exception.
Here's to hoping Veronica starts using "frack" on a weekly basis. |
So many parts of the show just made me laugh:
1. "What did you do for the "Extra 10 min" -The cockiness that gets people erritated at her 2. Frack 3. Sitting in the chairs at the end watching... |
Just watched the first 4 minutes (through the credits). I'll save the rest for the HD broadcast. :)
While it may grow on me, I'll give an initial thumbs-down to the remix of the song. It doesn't have the same energy that the original did, which I think worked really well. Maybe that fits with the tone of the season? |
Add me to the people who will wait for the broadcast next week. Watched the first 5 minutes, then decided to wait until next week.
|
Glad to see it back. Good premiere. However, I do not like the theme song change. I hate it when people mess with a good theme song (unless they make it better). Alias did the same thing and it sucked. The only theme song I can think of that was actually improved was Buffy's.
|
Anyone else surprised that they let a "douche bag" reference get through the cnesors? As most of you did, i am waiting for hd but watched the first 5 minutes for the theme song. It'll probably grow on me, and I like her with longer hair.
|
Damn...I must resist the urge to watch this as I want to wait until it airs so I can finally see it in all its HD goodness for the first time!!!
|
I just recently got into the show with season 1. Is it going to be completely messing up season 2 if I watch season 3 first? I was sort of thinking it would due to the build up to the season finale during all of season 1.
|
yeah, you'd mess the expierence of season 2, since it'll probably spoil the ending. Do what i did last season (if dvr space permits), dvr the epsisodes, but watch the second season on dvd, then by the time your done, you can do a mini season 3 marathon to catch up.

I actually like the remix of the theme, but it is strange. It sounds like a song that isn't all the way done.
As per the episode. I loved it. This season looks very promising. ETA: Kristen was smoking in general in this ep, but especially during the concert scenes. Geezus. |
Oh yeah, VM is really hot with longer hair. :)

I don't mind the new opening sequence. I just think they destroyed the theme song and to me a show is kind of identified by its theme song in a way, which is why I hate it when a good/great show changes a good/great theme song so dramatically. I'm just glad that never happened on Angel; That would've been a real travesty. With Buffy they took a good theme song and simply improved its flaws. With VM it seems like they gathered in a room (like with Alias) and thought "How can we ruin the theme song and make it feel like this is a different show?" (which I assume the latter is probably the intent since VM has now moved onto college). I actually would've preferred a brand new theme song as opposed to a weak remix of the current one. Either way both theme songs do not seem to fit the series as much now that VM is no longer the outsider she once was. It's really just a nitpick. I'm just used to great shows having very good and fitting theme songs that I enjoy hearing when they come up. Veronica Mars is now probably the only show that I like that has a theme song I don't really like that much. It might be different if I had never heard the old one; Who knows. Again, it's really a nitpick for a great show. I wish they would've left it along like I wished they would've left the Alias theme alone (though I think the new VM theme is worse than the Alias remix), but what can ya do? |

Liked the episode, but didn't love it. Kind of miss Wallace with a girlfriend. I liked watching Jackie compete with Veronica for his attention last season. Although last year's "big" mystery and finale was a bit overcooked, I'll miss having a meta-mystery this season. It's what was missing in the season premiere, IMO. I hope that they don't take the jackass out of Dick. Anyone else think that he Spoiler:
Also, Spoiler:
Good to see Backup back. cheers, -the Jesus |
I like this episode alot, but is it just a little coincidental that both Buffy and Veronica's first episodes at college deal with freshmen getting all their possessions ripped off?
