I thought it was interesting.
It's pretty graphic in some parts, the dismembered hookers they find, so I wonder how much that will hurt how many people watch it.

I loved the book this series is based on, and it seems the show has carried over its very distinct black sense of humor. Hall, coming from 6FU, seems perfectly suited for this type of material. I had a relative work on the pilot episode here in Miami and I've been waiting to see the end result with great anticipation. Thanks for the link and code Jadzia.

I thought it was really good. I really liked some of the changes from the book, and some not so much. Any idea if they are going to follow just the first book only this season.

From what I see of the episode titles they are using the book as the main story arc for the season. I actually like that idea given the mystery in the book, it seems they could have stretched that bit out while they were solving other cases.

Watched this last night and was quite impressed. Hall couldn't have been more perfectly cast for this role...he's great in it. I'm hoping this show pulls in decent ratings for Showtime.

Good to know it was quality. I've still got to watch it from the Tivo.

Of all the pilots I've watched over the last month, this one was clearly my favorite. I didn't know it was going to be a dark comedy. I laughed a lot more than I'm comfortable with
Here's hoping it lasts more than the the 2 seasons that Huff and Dead Like Me got. I really liked those shows and I think Dexter might even be better.

So far this looks like it will be a great series.

I really like the attention to detail, or the added realism they have in actually having the lead actor wearing clothes that have visable sweat. I saw the exact opposite last night after watching a show set in Florida and the characters talking about the record heat with the AC out, yet they all are wearing dark clothing and not a touch of sweat on any of them.

Just saw the pilot. This show had me grinning from ear to ear. It's the most brilliantly conceived show I've seen in a long long time (granted, it's based on a book). Love the inner monologue. It's bizarre - on the one hand he creeps you out because...well...he's a pathological serial killer, and on the other, you cheer wildly as he gives murderers what they deserve. It's like the kind of person you're afraid of, but he's on YOUR side. That ending was just AWESOME.

Also just saw a Dexter commercial during Letterman. Seems like Showtime is doing what they can to promote the show. I really hope they can steal some buzz from HBO because Showtime never seems to stick with anything and I already want more than 2 seasons of this show.

Loved the pilot episode. It's so dark and twisted, but somehow the motivations of Dexter, combined with his sociopathic channeling of his bloodthirst makes it morally interesting to watch. It's an interesting look at an anti-hero where the means don't quite justify the ends, but given the circumstances, it's almost, almost forgivable for the judge/jury/executioner aspect of Dexter's persona.
Did Julie Benz get her teeth fixed, her front teeth used to be very short in terms of exposure starting from the gumline.

Just watched it a second time. It's even better. People, you have GOT to watch this show. The concept is brilliant and the writing is just as good. The potential for stories here is awesome. I pray that this show keeps going and that the writing stays strong.

Well, when you notice someone has short teeth for a few years while on "Angel" and also "Buffy" at times, and then shows up with more normal-sized front teeth, it does get my attention.
