The difference here is – and this is important – the negatives of original unaltered 79 episodes will not be boxed up and buried in the Nevada desert. They will still be available.

The directors-edition of ST:TMP remains the only CGI re-visitation (movie or TV) that I actually like. I am curious and cautiously optimistic about the "anniversary editions."
