It was definitely a poignant show, but this feeling of loss was aided by the show having probably the greatest series finale in the history of television.

DS9 and Buffy for me, and to some extent Sex and the City...As far as characters, another vote for Dr. Greens death. Its funny, because I stopped watching ER after his death. But a few months ago I had to take a week off from work to use up vacation time and began watching some episodes on TNT, and now find myself dvr'ing the show and watching it all over again.

At the end of the brit version of The Office when
Spoiler:
Tim & Dawn get together
I cried.

Same thing happened when John Spencer died as I've been a fan of The West Wing since day 1.

How about Arrested Development? Never before have I had characters grow into so much, in such a short period of time, in my mind. I'll miss each and every one of those goofy guys and gals.

I also miss the cast of Seinfeld, and to a lesser extent Cheers.

Buffy, Angel, and Firefly
And I am another one for the Veronica Mars scene previously mentioned...I was in total shock and disbelief.

Those shows made me laugh too much to feel a loss. Maybe Cheers a little bit.

Yeah, good one. I'm right there with you on the Office. Even as I love the US version, I still miss all the Brits.

That moment really got me too.

The only show were I really felt a connection to the characters was Angel.

I miss Seinfeld. Watching reruns reminds me of how shitty sitcoms are now. The X-Files hit me the hardest, since it was one of those shows that even though it was popular, I felt like it was my own, since I started from day one and most other people jumped on the bandwagon.

Another vote for Six Feet Under here. Usually a couple of friends and I would watch the episodes, but I'm glad I watched the episode with
Spoiler:
Nate's funeral
and the finale by myself because I was bawling.

Friends is another one. They'll live on in syndication forever, but I still remember after the finale, think that I'll never be able to watch a new episode.

The West Wing because I know that we'll never get people in the White House as dedicated and hardworking as their fictional counterparts. I always want to vote for Jed Bartlet, but I don't want to waste my vote.

As for future ones, whenever the Simpsons go off the air.

I totally spaced on Dr. Greene! I watched that episode with my mom, Dad, and Sister and all of us where tearing up at the end!

And yet another vote for the scene in Veronica Mars. I watch the series with several friends in the dorms - and nobody could breath after the plane blew up!

It was definitely a poignant show, but this feeling of loss was aided by the show having probably the greatest series finale in the history of television.

I can understand your thinking, but really, you must watch it! It's a great episode! I was sad to see it end, but I couldn't stop watching it, especially during that last arc. Although you'll never be able to hear "The Way You Look Tonight" again without feeling a bit sad at the loss of DS9.
