I'll go with Ben Browder and Claudia Black. Great on Farscape and great on SG-1.

May I suggest Edward James Olmos and Mary McDonnell for Battlestar Galactica?

Leonard Nimoy and William Shatner-Star Trek(TOS)

I don't think there is any competition to this.

Well, I'm guessing Next Generation fans could make a pretty good argument by throwing Patrick Stewart and Brent Spiner out there, but I too prefer Shatner and Nimoy. Plus, Next Generation was so much of an ensamble it's difficult to say who was "Number Two" on that show...although I think Spiner got more screen time that Frakes.

Lance Henricksen and Terry O' Quinn in Millennium would be at or near the top of my list. While the show was lacking sometimes, I always enjoyed their characters immensely.

If dramatic range is the yardstick, the Browder/Black combo is pretty hard to beat.

They could go from screwball comedy to heart-wrenching drama. Often during the course of a single episode.

Yes, except Terry was a recurring character - he wasn't one of the leads. So I'm not sure he fits the original poster's premise...I think he was looking for the best combo of lead actors from a sci-fi show.

I'd throw Patrick MacGoohan into the mix, but he didn't have any regular co-stars.

Devon & Rachel from The Starlost.

Ok, maybe not.

I just wanted to work the show into the discussion.

Awesome call, maxfisher.

And RE: Shatner/Nimoy. They're icons, sure, but not GREAT actors.

Cool post.

I think my #1 does go to Claudia and Ben. I haven't seen them in SG1, but they were perfect together in Farscape. They must have loved working with one another.

G'Kar and Londo get honorable mention. Again a great evolution of characters and personalities.
