Great news that Christmas Invasion will be shown first! Thanks for realying the info, Valeyard. Now I just hope they don't edit it down to fit in a 60 minute.

I'm really pleased they'll be running these so soon. I held off on getting these "through other means" because I wanted to save them. There isn't much I get truly excited for on TV these days, but the last season of Doctor Who totally won me over.

Does anyone know what the final lineup is going to be? Doctor Who, BSG, and another show? Or reruns of SG-1 or Atlantis?

Man, Battlestar Galactica and Doctor Who both on Friday night. Good thing us sci-fi fan boys don't have dates on Fridays.

The original uncut Confidentials were even better. They were cut down for the DVD releases and excised most of the references to the past Doctors.

I'll have to catch some of these on big screen compared to the little screen.
there are a couple of good episodes in Season 2.

And did you hear the news?

Spoiler:

Sarah Jane's "Adventures" Greenlit
Posted: Sunday September 17th 2006 12:35am
Source: The BBC
Author: Garth Franklin

Despite comments that he let the opportunity go last month, "Doctor Who" producer Russell T Davies is going forward and has created "The Sarah Jane Adventures", a brand new spin-off series for CBBC reports The BBC.

Set in present-day West London, the programme stars Elisabeth Sladen, continuing her much-loved role as Sarah Jane Smith. Smith was a former companion of the Third and Fourth Doctors from 1973 to 1976, and is cited by many fans of the long running "Doctor Who" franchise as 'the best he ever had'. Smith reprised her role in the third episode of the second season of the relaunched "Who".

A 60-minute special will be broadcast in early 2007, with a series following later in the year. In the special, Sarah and her 13-year-old neighbour Maria (Yasmin Paige) form an unlikely alliance to fight evil alien forces at work in Britain, and against the scheming Ms Wormwood. That role will be played by Samantha Bond, best known as Miss Moneypenny in the Pierce Brosnan James Bond films.

Filming begins next month on location in Wales, with the series going into production in spring 2007. K-9, the faithful robot dog and Sarah Jane's goodbye present from The Doctor, makes an appearance in the special but will not appear in the series.

Too many like Trek.

Hmmm.

Spoiler:
Three series on at the same time? That's going overboard.

Well I'm really looking forward to this. I liked series 1 very much - can't wait to see what they've done with series 2. However, I did already cheat and watch the first 6 or so...now I'm trying to behave, otherwise I won't have anything to look forward to until series 3 makes it on the air.

Hey, the BBC has a lot of channels to fill. This newest spinoff is going to be a children's series- CBBC is like Noggin', sort of.

I'm not sure why this is all in spoiler tags (since none of this discussion is a spoiler), but I'll continue the trend to say:
Spoiler:
Make that FOUR series. Don't forget the new K-9 animated series. This is rediculous. They're going to milk this thing dry.

I also read the RTD is pretty convinced a fourth series(season) is a done deal! He even has about 9 of the stories plotted out already.

Given the BBC ratings, I guess this shouldn't be much of a shock.

Checking the schedule for the Series 2 episodes on SciFi on 9/29, it's going to be:

8:00pm EDT: Doctor Who "Christmas Invasion" (90 minutes)
9:30pm EDT: Doctor Who "New Earth" (60 minutes)

Then from 10:30-1pm, they repeat both episodes again.

(And I wonder if the short special clip of Rose meeting the newly regenerated Doctor will be included before "Christmas Invasion" shows?)

Also, for those who want to catch up on Season 1 (Series 1) with the 9th Doctor, SciFi is showing a marathon of 8 episodes during the morning and afternoon of 9/29, before the Season 2 (Series 2) premiere that night listed in my previous post:

08:00am EDT: Doctor Who - "Dalek"
09:00am EDT: Doctor Who - "The Long Game"
10:00am EDT: Doctor Who - "Father's Day"
11:00am EDT: Doctor Who - "The Empty Child" (pt 1)
12:00pm EDT: Doctor Who - "The Doctor Dances" (pt 2)
01:00pm EDT: Doctor Who - "Boom Town"
02:00pm EDT: Doctor Who - "Bad Wolf" (pt 1)
03:00pm EDT: Doctor Who - "The Parting of the Ways" (pt 2)
