Watched the pilot yesterday. Pretty good. Very Sorkin-ish, which can be good and bad.
At least you know you're watching a Sorkin show ...

Just watched the pilot. It looked pretty much complete with all music and everything except for the opening title sequence (which was just some text that said something along the lines of "Opening Titles and Music").
As everyone would expect, you know it's Sorkin after just a few minutes. I was really sad that The West Wing was over (I know, Sorkin had been gone for a few years, but this last season was great in my opinion, and I wish there was a "West Wing: The Next Generation" or something for the next administration)... but, I definitely got my WW fix with this pilot.
As with most pilots, it mostly just sets up characters, who upon first glance all seem seem to be casted well. My understanding is that Matthew Perry was hand-picked for his part, and he fits very well. There are plenty of WW and Sports Night "cameos" (I know, some are cast members, but this will make more sense once you see it, and I don't want to spoil anything). Just like WW allowed me to "learn" at least a little something about government and politics, I really think S60 will do the same for television... and (office) politics.
There was still plenty of "message" that came out. I don't know if it's Sorkin trying to say something through his characters, or he likes to just stir things up, or he's just saying the things that everyone else is already thinking anyway (there are plenty of digs at NBC about the "fictional" NBS network), but it makes for a more entertaining show, that's for sure.
If you have a way to watch it (NetFlix, or whatever), I highly recommend that you do unless you absolutely *hate* WW and SN. Just a warning... you'll be mad that there isn't a way to watch the next episode for a couple months.

I'd rather kick myself in the nuts than watch something longer than a minute on YouTube. I'll just wait for the Netflix disc to hit my mailbox.
I've watched it and can't wait to watch it again.

Just watched it and have to say it's great having Sorkin back on television.
Perry and Whitford are great together.
It was good to see Sorkin use
as the first host.

I've heard that critics were underwhelmed with Studio 60's pilot...what the fuck show were they watching. This pilot was EXCELLENT. Sure, it leaves a bit to be desired, but that's what the REST of the season is for... it served it's purpose of introducing the characters (who mostly seem very interesting) and the opening scene was one of the best show openings I've seen in recent memory. I'm definitely going to be watching this show this fall, and I hope it makes it. Sorkin is extremely talented and having him back in a forum where he excels is terrific.

I'm definitely in after watching the Pilot. Matt was always my favorite Friend and all the episodes he did in WW were excellent. Looks like his Matt Alby in this one is a hybrid of Chandler and Joe Quincy and gets a big
from me.
Great to have Sorkin/Schlamme back on TV. But is it me, or was there a lack of the trademark long, one take tracking shots in this one? Or maybe I was just into the story too much to notice...

Saw it, and really enjoyed the episode. As said, all pilots tend to be uneven from having to introduce characters and relationships, but this was still very good.

I really enjoyed this pilot. I can't wait until the show starts airing!
FYI Netflix users. DO NOT PUT BOTH THIS AND KIDNAPPED IN YOUR QUEUE! Both pilots are on the same DVD.
