I have to agree that Major Victory getting kicked out was lame. He came in second place in the first challenge and first place in the second challenge.

Booting him because he cracks jokes just didn't make sense. Especially since that is one of the things that Spiderman is known for doing.

Fat Mama stopping for a massage alone should have gotten her kicked out.

Major Victory got sent home because Stan wasn't comfortable with Major's past occupation as a male dancer/stripper.

This is scripted to pick the best character for the movie, has nothing to do with the show itself. It's a joke. A marketing scheme, that the audience is in on. Pretty darn clever. Lets create a reality show, that everyone knows is faked. We will pick out-of-work actors who are willing to make complete asses of themselves, just for the exposure.

If FM wins, there will be little audience for season 2 and an unwatchable movie. Who would watch her save the world with donuts?

If FB wins, at least there is the potential to create another Saturday night Sci-Fi channel crapfest movie. Maybe some cheap but cool electrical effects (recent blackhole movie).

If MV had won, the movie would have been a joke. They would have to make it a comedy, which isn't a bad idea, but I don't think it is what they are looking for. They want it to be in line with Sci-Fi channel movies and not the "Greates American Hero - Major Victory". Which in my opinion, isn't a bad idea.

I still think this was shot over a couple days. I willing to bet all the outdoor eliminations were shot on the same night. They are told how to act. All the emotion is over the top. These people don't know each other. There is never any "real" house time shown (other than the occaisional cleaning). I bet they didn't eat or sleep there and it was just a set. Did you see any personal belonging?

If I was in charge, I would make the movie with ALL the contestents. Think Mystery Men II. Have the winner be the lead. Feedback is still my choice, partially because he has the coolest costume and he has that wirey Johny Storm kinda look.

By definition, Sci-Fi Channel movies are a joke. But a MV movie would be the one I'd most likely check out. Hell, if they cast Bruce Campbell as MV (perfect casting and he's done sci-fi channel movies before) I wouldn't miss it. And judging from comments that I'm reading here and elsewhere I'm not alone. So if the goal of this is to get the most marketable movie they screwed up big time.

A perfectly understandable problem ... from the creator of Striperella

Major Victory was booted for things that are present in Stan Lee's comics already. Not it really seems scripted.

Bronkster 09-01-06 01:44 AM

Lordy. That was a horrible way to end the series.

Chew 09-01-06 06:10 AM

The worst episode of the six, no doubt. At least, of those left, the correct choice was made.

Can't wait to see who they cast as Feedback.

Ayre 09-01-06 06:49 AM

I wonder if Feedback's wife will ever sleep with him again.

I wonder when the movie will show up on SciFi channel. Maybe they can get Ray Liotta to costar. I hear he is out of work. :suicide:

Here is some news on Season 2.
---------------------

SCI FI Channel has ordered up an expanded second season of its hit original reality series Who Wants to Be a Superhero?, starring Stan Lee. The second season, which is slated to air next summer, will expand from six to 10 one-hour episodes. The show is produced by Bruce Nash's Nash Entertainment and Lee's POW! Entertainment, Inc.

"Who Wants to Be a Superhero? was a success for us on many levels last summer," Mark Stern, SCI FI's executive vice president, original programming, said in a statement. "The show garnered great reviews, attracted a record-breaking number of younger viewers to the channel and held its own against some very stiff competition on Thursday nights."

The first season of Who Wants to Be a Superhero? averaged a 1.1 household rating (1.5 million total viewers), more than doubled the year-to-date time-period average among viewers aged 18-34, increased the number of 18-49 viewers by more than 74 percent and grew the 25-54 audience by more than 44 percent.

Anyone catch "Megasnake" the SciFi original movie with Feedback (S1's winner?) in it?

He is in it for about 1 minute of screen-time, doesnt use any super-powers, and that's about it. I thought the big prize of the show was a movie ABOUT them and their superhero'dness... not same crappy 1 minute cameo.
