Missed this week, can someone fill me in?

TeamAnS 08-15-06 10:18 PM

Ok, I am watching it now. I like this show but with each episode, it seems more and more scripted than an actual reality show. What does everyone else think?

stingermck 08-15-06 10:29 PM

Very scripted. Especially considering if you go to IMDB and see most of the females at least, have acting experience, being in movies and TV shows.

Yet I keep watching....

BTW according to Stan's Logic, his precious Spider-Man is not a real hero, since revealing his identity :)

stingermck 08-17-06 08:37 PM

For all you creature fans, just found her official site, and she has some artsy full nude photos on there! :eyebrow:

BTW How stupid is Stan? I wish he'd get off the thing about Victory taking his cape off.

I agree. I thought the cape thing was incredibly lame. It is not uncommon for a hero to take off part of their costume to aid someone. I think Stan was stretching things a bit, trying to find something wrong with Major Victory since I think he is the favorite to win.

Major Victory is my favorite but I'm thinking Feedback will win. Vic doesn't take the whole thing too seriously, moonwalking in the intersection and frequently cracking jokes. I can just hear Stan complaining that "superheroes don't moonwalk!".

You're probably right. Especially after Feedback's heart wrentching speech at the end of the episode. Is it just me, or did that speech comletely change the feel of the show? Up until that point, the whole thing was just a cheesy show with hammy acting played for laughs. Feedback's speech just made me feel sorry for him. Hard to poke fun at him now.

JCWBobC 08-18-06 06:43 PM

First of all Major Victory is great and once he goes I will probably stop watching the show as no one else really has a personality worth watching.

Did anyone else notice the main guard was the older guy from Joe Shmo?

Chew 08-18-06 07:12 PM

I think there are two episodes left? So much for 2 elims per show, apparently?

not to mention the fact that every time Stan is on camera, a picture of Stripperella is in the background. um, who's sending mixed messages?

Chew 08-21-06 06:54 AM

I don't know if it's mixed messages so much as needing a second (or third) person to step on the red elim boxes every episode. Every little thing is up for grabs and can result in you turning in your costume, if even it's not consistent.

edytwinky 08-24-06 12:31 AM

Finally caught up on all the episodes. Not the greatest show but it keeps me entertained in the meantime. It's coming down to Feedback and Major Victory or whatever his name is.

PLEASE do not let Phat Momma win.

lukewarmwater 08-24-06 02:38 AM

They already picked the winners, dark horse comics already has the comic previews up.

Super X 08-24-06 11:49 AM

I think Lemuria should have gotten a free pass since Stan couldn't get her name right once during his lecture to her at the end (he kept calling her "Lumeria").

edytwinky 08-24-06 12:10 PM

The Dark Enforcer may be the weakest villian I've ever seen.

JCWBobC 08-24-06 09:30 PM

Another fun episode but the wrong person went home in my opinion. Anyone else have any thoughts on tonight's episode?

stingermck 08-24-06 09:32 PM

Yup, Def wrong person. Shouldve been Fat Momma. Sad ending

I'm still not sure. I had started to dislike Fat Momma after her little tirade a couple of weeks ago. But I think she redeemed herself tonight with her offer to drop out so that Feedback could stay. Still, it took her MUCH longer to complete the timed challenge than the others. I also see Stan's point about Major Victory becoming a caricature. I'd have hated to see either one go.

strife 08-24-06 11:37 PM

I guessed last week would be major victory in the first elimination and be fat momma against feedback

link??

Chew 08-25-06 06:59 AM

I would say the reasoning for Major Victory going home was among the weakest. Stan's biggest superhero creation cracks jokes all the time while he saves people.

The quickest time to save someone while cracking jokes vs. 40 minutes longer while stopping for a massage? No contest in my opinion. -ohbfrank-

ytrez 08-25-06 08:10 AM

Major Victory, by costume/look alone, makes the best comic book character.

Feedback, of the 2 remaining, obviously should win. How many peope will buy a Fat Momma comic? Not many kids the age of those in the classroom last night are buying comics these days and I don't see people lining up for this:

Feedback is okay, seems like a nice guy, and deserves to win, but that origin story. And powers from video games. Like pong? The girl who said she thought he was making up pong 'cause she never heard of it was pretty funny. A weaker character than Major Victory but something more to work with than Fat Mama at least.

Oh, these superheroes sure cry a lot.

Completely agree.

brainee 08-25-06 03:30 PM

Feedback should've been eliminated on the basis of his "Pong" answer alone? Pong?!? His character's supposed to have a videogame theme, right? If you're going retro at least pick something like Pac-Man or Mario Brothers. The problem with Feedback is that he's just boring and no fun. His character is too serious for this show, his backstory's convoluted. If I was forced to watch the Sci-Fi Channel original movie for any of them (even the one's eliminated) his would be the last movie I'd want to see. The same for having to read the comic. I'm surprised any kids lined up behind him at all -- unless it was out of pity after they saw everyone going to FM and MV.

MV cracked me up (again) during these challenges. Little funny lines he's always doing -- like with the lotion going crazy and saying "Ughhh ... I had that happen to me once. But I don't really want to talk about it." At least he lasted all the way until the penultimate show.

Anyone else disappointed we didn't get to see Iron Enforcer with the classroom challenge? I can picture him answering a kid's question about his character saying "See this big gun? I kill people! People who are bad. Has anyone in here been bad? BANG!!!" and making kids cry

boredsilly 08-25-06 07:19 PM

I love this show. It's so staged, but I don't care. However if these "contestants" aren't all in on the act, then Feedback is one weird cat. He's like a big kid. I'm hoping most of that is schtick.

Major Victory's speed walk is comical.
