oh... my... god... i have to see that footage. but really, that would explain it. lukas was just like "yeah, cool, whatever." and as someone said, the band was falling all over dilana with their offers.

That makes a lot more sense than Lukas knowing ahead of time. When they said the winner was also the top vote getter, I absolutely could imagine Dilana assuming she won since she was the only one not in the bottom two.

For anyone who's interested

http://www.myspace.com/supernova has two studio tracks up by Supernova. What's even more suspect is the fact that there's about 12 hours of Lukas vocal work on there and another 15 hours of mixing and mastering as well.....anyone think the whole album was done ages ago??

Roto 09-15-06 04:38 AM

They already recorded tracks with a bunch of them during the show when they were deciding who was going to get to sing their next big hit, Ho Ho Ho Hey Hey Hey

The concept of "fixing" is that the result is known before the thing even starts. That's most likely the case here. The reason not to fix is that is this truly a competition or a variety show?

And you can say with all seriousness that the fix wasn't in this year because Mig didn't win last year? That's not that convincing.

That's not this Supernova. Are you sure you have the right link? This is some horrible punk band.

Now I hate Loukas, but he sounds great in the studio, a real nice rock voice. Amazing what technology can do. Maybe in time he'll hone his voice and be close to the record, but I'm impressed.

Wow, I gotta eat my words too..I really like that track! Like would love to hear it on the radio kind of love it...He sounds better in studio than live performance..but it is a great track.

So can anyone confirm whether or not Dilana thought that she won? There should be quite a few accounts of it by now if it is true.

DVD Josh 09-15-06 12:44 PM

Hilarious:

“It’s going to be Rock Star: Supernova. That’s their actual name,” said Natalie Geday-Sorem, a spokeswoman for the group’s label, Epic Records.

The only thing funnier is if they named the band SAVAGE ANIMAL

Or DogWar or FIST, was it?

Alright, any predictions for next season? Considering how much the ratings jumped this year, they might actually be able to get a real band. Here's some choices:

Van Halen

Rumored to be the band THIS season but fell through. The VH brothers might make the whole thing unbearable, plus Eddie is going through some really tough times.

Alice in Chains

Another band rumored for S2. They have been touring with someone, but there seems to be some interest in bringing this one back

Fuel

No stranger to trying to recruit from the reality ranks. They are currently in the studio with someone, but it doesn't sound too permanent

Sublime

Almost impossible as Brad was also the band's guitarist.

The Clash

Absolutely no shot they would sell out to this level

Queen

I don't know if Paul Rodgers is in it for the long run.

Bad Company

See Above

Journey

Another possibility. They hate Perry, but seem to like their "new" guy (who sounds just like him). A very INXS band with a ton of radio hits who could resurrect their career with the show.

Ramones

See the Clash

Grateful Dead

Yeah, right

Thoughts, additions?

Dr. Henry Jones, Jr. 09-15-06 02:57 PM

Journey would be an interesting season. They have sounded good with Steve Augieri, but he was replaced on their latest tour with Jeff Scott Soto due to a throat infection. I don't know how serious it is or how permanent the switch is.

I'd love to see a new group made with Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, but that would never, ever happen on this show. :)

pinata242 09-15-06 02:57 PM

I don't know if I'll be able to stomach a 3rd season of this. It's just so much of a time investment. Luckily it is a summer show and I don't have much getting in the way. They're really going to have to bring in someone I could care about. I think I could get behind pretty much any of the above suggestions.

sorry totally screwed this up..i was posting when i should have been in bed four hours ago,,,

DRG 09-15-06 04:01 PM

Van Halen shows no respect to established singers, I can't imagine how awful they'd be to a no-name that won a reality show. Although it would make for an interesting season.

I'd actually like to see them do a follow up season along the lines of Making the Band, where they show them in the studio, on the road, etc. just to see how it turned out.

I'm saying the result isn't known before the show starts, but the band obviously could've decided right away that they wanted Lukas. That doesn't make it fixed. Everybody had the opportunity to change their minds even if it wasn't likely to happen. Because the band gets to choose who they want throughout the entire show, there is no reason to rig anything. That's why I think all the conspiracy theories are nonsense.
