The Dom character looks good on paper. A "5th wheel" to upset the dynamic of the gang and test the strength of their friendship. And having Vince be the only guy that likes him was also good writing.

Problem was that guy was so unlikeable he made me ill just to look at him. He'd probably be good as a thug in an action flick. I just don't want him infiltrating my Sunday Night crew.
