I thought this show looked so incredibly stupid when I saw ads for it at the movie theater....

I was visiting my parents this past weekend. On Friday night I decided to go take a nap while the rest of my family watched some horrible crap on tv. I could hear them laughing at Funniest Home Videos. When it was over, I came back downstairs and saw the repeat of the pilot episode of Kyle XY on ABC at 9pm. I don't know if it was because there was nothing else to watch or not, but I watched the whole thing and was actually a little impressed by the fact that an original show for the Family Channel held my interest. I watched the second episode on Monday night on its regular channel. I'll probably check out the rest of the eps for the summer as well. What a nice surpise actually having a scripted drama to watch over the summer that doesn't completely suck or isn't on HBO.

People still watching this? I just watched last Friday's ABC airing.

Still looking good to me. I liked the skeleton at the end there, gives us something a little more concrete to speculate about.

I like it. I hope they get more into the Mythology though and away from the sappy family stuff.

Right, and hopefully that's where the skeleton will begin to lead us.

I'm still watching this show, but I have a creepy feeling I'm making people like James Dobson happy by doing so.

Futon Critic is reporting that ABC has extended the Friday repeats by "at least" two weeks (which would be 08/04).

More HD!

I was surprised that a show on ABC Family would tackle topics such as teenage sex, skinnydipping, drinking, and masturbation.

Yeah, it was actually pretty raunchy...

But now that I think about it, this is entirely a teen issues show, with a mystery backdrop...Kyle is a 'blank slate' so EVERYTHING has to be explained to him, which gives ABC Family the ability to teach lessons about alchahol, sex and love without the normally awkward scenes where a character who should know this stuff has it explained to them.

But it was still funny to turn to my wife and ask "Did he just bang her?!?!?" When Declan and the sister were coming out of the woods.

Who else expected the neighbor girl to walk in during a Kyle solo performance?

They certainly set us up for it.

Kyle kinda reminds me of Mork in the first couple of seasons with A lesson of the week.
I did read an article with the kid who plays Kyle and he says they get more into the secrets in the next few episode.

BTW...its funny, people talk about American TV being so uptight about sex but violence is OK, then we go posting here about how shocking some making out and offscreen sex is, and no one mentions Kryczeck breaking a mans neck

I think what really surprised people is that is ABC Family. Which I have to agree with their stance. They show a lot more sex than violence and I agree with that.

I have been watching this on ABC Fam, but was introduced to it on regular ol ABC.

Its pretty good so far. I understand why, but the least appealing part of the show is this tweenie drama part.

My wife and I have been watching it since the pilot and have enjoyed it. She hates when he narrates himself but it doesn't bother me.

I was shocked myself how far they push the envelope..it's cool though.

I could be wrong but I have a feeling this supposed "Bad Guy" following Kyle actually saved him.

Some company created him and this guy killed the guy in the woods to save him.

Could be wrong though because he was talking to someone.

We'll continue watching...it's set on my DVR to record every week.

Also glad to hear rating are good. I'm sick of getting into shows just to see them not even make it out of a first season!

That's the feeling I get as well. He's trying to protect Kyle from The Evil Gub'mint.

I think Kyle has some bad circuitry though. That plain jane Amanda that he's in love with looks like she's about 11 years old.

Yeah and he really looks like a teenager as well. My guess is closer to 27.
