Strong agreement.

That guys does not reek of "high-class restaurant".

I can see him barely handling it for about a year then spiraling into a mess that causes him to lose the gig. However, if he's under someone who can keep him in line I think he ccould do it and evenutally mature under that kind of environment.

He doesn't look too bad when he's dressed in chef whites but the clothes he wears in his free time have got to go if he wants to be a respected chef.

makes sense. cant see any other way why people would get so angry over a free meal. the way some people react is pretty pathetic.

Right. And if you notice, they all look like snobs or Wannabees. It's more or less a school so they should be more forgiving. I've knew a guy who used to get his Dental work done at USC's dental school on the cheap because they were students. I dated a girl who got her hair cut at the Vidal Sasoon(?) hair school in Santa Monica(3rd St Promenade) for a fraction of the the cost. It would often take a few hours because the teacher would be watching and teaching the stylist but it was worth it. Hell, if you know anything about what women are charged to get the hair done at "Pro salons" then the school is a cool deal. A also had a friend who's father had his haircuts on the cheap at a Barber School.

I simple can't see Keith winning it because of the hip-hop sloppy look. Your persona is part of the job and his persona does not look high-class chef.

True but I don't know if you notice but Chef seems to really like him and his work. I'll bet Chef feels like he's whipping him into shape.

But not nearly as much as the quality of the food. I don't care if the chef is rocking a mullet and acid wash jeans, if the food and service are well done that's all that matters.

So far, all I see Keith cook is beef when it comes to individual challenges. Apparently, he's really good with the beef grilling. I haven't seen anything creative / exotic from him yet compare to the other contestants. Again, you're require to dress a certain way for work or whatever the occasions. It's part of the job. If you can't perform a simple task like that, you don't deserve it.

Dalvin 07-25-06 07:53 PM

I think we all are in agreement that it will be Keith and Heather in the final two. I think that will be a good final two. Here are my predictions as to who will go....

1) Sara- Chef hates her bad attitude, and she is constantly challenging him for authority. Doesn't work as a team, and doesn't seem to want to be the best.

2) Virginia- Buckles under the pressue, and doesn't have great leadership skills. She is often scatterbrained, and can't do two things at once. She clearly can't run a kitchen.

3) Keith- I think in the end, he will buckle. He has proven he is great up until now, but again, while he does have leadership skills, and has proven he can handle pressue, he doesn't have the makenings of anything special.

4) Heather- Easily my favorite of all the chefs, she takes abuse from the chef well, doesn't backtalk, and is articulate and professional in everything. Her leadership skills are outstanding, and she has proven that she can handle a kitchen. My only fgripe is that sometimes she is Awesome, and then she is jusy good. Clearly deserving of the restaurant. I think Gordon actually wants to see Keith win this however.

lordwow 07-25-06 08:34 PM

I picked Heather week one, and I'm keeping with her now. Though her stock has dropped a lot in the last few weeks, she's just ahead of Keith, by a hair.

Didn't Chef have someone last year work the Hot Plate in one episode? Or was it just the last episode when they had the old chefs working for them?

Like the guy who won last year with the Multi-color Mohawk, piercings and full body tattoos?

Fok 07-26-06 02:58 AM

Glad Carrot got the boot.

BTW do the customers of the resturant get paid or pay for the meal?

I don't know 100% for certain for Hell's Kitchen, but typically the way these sort of things work the answer to your question is: Neither. However, since many diners end up sitting there for a great length of time and get nothing, I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't given a small stipend, say $50 or so.

Most shows neither charge the "audience" nor pay them to attend tapings. Tickets are arranged through various brokers/recruiters (or by standing in line) and are free. I have attended tapings of TV shows in the LA area and that is how it has always worked. So I would assume that they arrange an "audience" of diners in advance, and their reward for showing up (properly attired, etc) is meeting Ramsay, possibly being on TV, and a free meal if they can get one past the hot plate.

I didn't see last season so I'm just going under my assumption.

There is no way the production pays those people to eat there.

Why?

Because people will show up without being paid.

That's how Hollywood gets so many interns for free :)

I agree. I also wouldn't be surprised if she faked it on her own accord, just to guarantee some tv time. This is Los Angeles, after all.

Buford T Pusser 07-26-06 09:33 AM

They might pay them $1 in exchange for them to sign a release that they'll be on TV.

And unless I missed it, we still don't know what she was pissed about.

She asked when she could expect some food before Ramsey cut her off I think

movieking 07-26-06 11:46 AM

Yeah, she was asking him when she could expect her meal.

As for being a setup, wasn't it a coincident that she knocked over a whole table's meals just as the table of 12 were coming in? I think not.

Giantrobo 07-26-06 02:29 PM

Oh ok.

Reality show or not, I thought that was a selfish bitchy movie. She doesn't get her food so she ****s up someone else's meal?

atari2600 07-26-06 04:17 PM

she was a bitch. no doubt about it.
